I have my family in Samuthsakorn Province which is about an hour south west of Bangkok. I work in Saudi Arabia and go home to Thailand 3 times a year. I've been married to my Thai wife for over 22 years. We have a small townhouse near the centre of a town called Kratoombaen. When we first got there we could walk around the town in an hour....now you couldn't drive around it in that time. I've spent some time in Thailand and enjoy it there very much.

www.thaichatbox.com is popular website for Thai people chatting. Also there is www.thailandfriends.com with their own chat and very popular. www.bangkokchat.org use to be very popular.
www.thaichatbox.com seems to be where you will meet most of the normal people really interested in thailand, the language, making friends etc.
The best website I have ever seen is www.visualthailand.com. There are 1000 photos on there of Thailand and links to everything you can think of.
You will find plenty of interesting people there to meet
