Here's the deal:
According to the Bible, the Jews were ordered by God to take over that land, which was then called Canaan. The Jews did conquer it but were forcibly removed by the Romans in 70 and 135 AD from the land after their revolts were crushed.
The Jews returned to that land in 1948 after Israel was re-established as a nation by the UN, so don't let anyone tell you Israel is a rogue nation. Israel has the right to exist; it came into being legitimately. The Palestinians claim to have ownership of that land, but this is not true.
They claim that the Canaanites were Arabs, when they were not. According to the Bible, Noah had three sons, one of whom was Shem, the ancestor of the Jews and Arabs. The Canaanites came from the line of Ham, Noah's other son. So the Canaanites were not Semites, therefore they were not Arabs. The Canaanites are gone and so are their descendants, so there is no one left to rightfully fight the Jews for that land.
The main problem is misdirected nationalism. The Palestinians didn't even call themselves Palestinians until AFTER 1948. The Palestinian people are merely a ploy being used by the Muslim nations to regain land that was lost to the Jews. After all, according to Islam, any land that is conquered in the name of Allah can never again come under non-Muslim rule, or a Jihad, or Holy War, must be declared in order to regain that land.
There are elements in the media that affect this conflict. The Palestinian media greatly brainwashes the youth of Palestine into believing a warped view of history.
So in short, religion has everything to do with this conflict, nothing else really matters. It's Judeo-Christianity vs. Islam.

It is not caused by religion. There are Jews, Muslims, and Christians, plus others, there.
Palestine has never been a country, till Israel recently gave them Gaza and part of the West Bank for a country.
The Jews were taken there by G-d, and as history says, gave it to them. There have been Israelites/Jews there since then. Even during what is called the big Exodus and the exile into Babylon, there were some left there. Palestine was the name of a Roman province. It was then controlled by others, Christian Crusaders, Saladin, the Ottoman Empire, the British--------they called it the area of Palestine. But, it was never a country.
People have been fighting over this land since-----almost forever.
The Jews are the first to give the land a name, to vastly improve it, and to give the people a name-Israelis. Now that there is a country of Palestine, there can now be the legitimate name Palestinians.

Sarah got agitated with Hagar, back in the OT ger son was Ishmael and the problems started there and have gone pretty much non-stop ever since. There is a different stroke about todays situation however. The genetic line of Jews is actually not involved much. Look up Khazars to find out who the Zionists really are. The Saudis gave this land to this group, who were originally from Asia minor. Some say in the early 20th century Bout 05 or so and some say after WW2 but the guy who told me the earlier date is ahistory buff it is probably true of both dates. The Genetically Jewish were given this area by God in the OT, but I am pretty sure He took it back when the crucified Jesus. A close reading will show they were at least temporarily disinherited.
The real problem however started arround the years 1000 or some b4 when a Catholic priest in search of profit sent an agressive force to take the land from The Arabs or who ever Salidin and the guy b4 him were with. There was then the destruction of the empire ruled by the Turks and Arabs which pretty much surrounded the Mediteranian Sea. You should have enough leads to pursue with that. read above and everything NIA says about the Arab participation is also true ofIsrael. and we are using Israel to maintain a presence in the area. We are are being brainwashed about what is going on.
Truly had the western nations who gave the Khazars Israel been wanting peace in the MidEast then what would have been best for the world is if they had in fact given Texas to the Jews, then at least their average IQ would be up there around normal.

The Israeli/Palestine problem was indirectly caused by Hitler. If the 2nd World War hadn't been, then the problems in the Near East wouldn't be so great now. I'm not for one side or the other, but can understand why the Palestinians are so upset. Let's face it, What would have happened if, after the war, the UN had come along and said "Okay Fellas, Texas is a nice place, but as from now it's going to be called Israel and all Jews from around the world can come and turf out the Americans who have lived and worked there (peacefully) for many years. That would never have been accepted, but the Palestinians are expected to accept that idea peacefully. And all because the Jewish people say that its the "Promised Land" - only in their Bible though, nothing about that is mentioned in the Koran.

Anyone who knows a little bit about history knows that the Jews were there long before "Palestinians". Actually, there was never an independent Arab nation there called Palestine in all of history. They werent interested in the land until the Jews came back, cleaned it up and made it into a nice piece of real estate. Originally, when the land was about to be given to Israel, they were supposed to receive what today is all of Israel and Jordan. However, 77% of that was cut off and given to the Hashemites and it was called Transjordan (over the Jordan). That is where Palestinians should be living.

The West financial company, Gaza and East Jerusalem are technically Palestinian Territory. This exchange into desperate by the worldwide courtroom of Justice in an in depth to-unanimous decision in 2004. Israel does no longer comprehend worldwide regulation or the courtroom's opinion, or a number of U.N. risk-free practices council resolutions on the priority, and keeps to settle its civilian inhabitants in the section that's barely one in each and every of its many flagrant violations of world regulation.

Look on Wikipedia or something. If you listen to anyone on this forum you will hear Side A and/or Side B. It's not a black and white issue --as race, religion, nationalism, and war are involved.

The current conflict started when Muhammad invented islam and told his followers to invade the surrounding lands, especially land Jews lived on. There have been times when this conflict has appeared to go away, but it always comes back and will continue until muslims admit muhammad was not a prophet and islam is based on lies.

It goes back to old testament times.Yep,that far back.Ever heard the names Isaac and Ishmael. That's a 2,000 year old sibling rivalry over there. It will never end, because it's not supposed to.Ishmael was the oldest son of Abraham, but it didn't matter.God chose Isaac to be the heir to the deed of Israel.Ishmael and his mother Hagar was sent away to the east.I would imagine Ismael was wroth because God chose Isaac over him.The Palestine's have no business getting land. It's Israel's,fair and square.Ishmael's land is east of Israel.
