There isn't an age limit. A family friend had a 12-year-old who was taking classes at university in maths and statistics (he had to take some enterance tests and go through interviews first, though). And when I was in university, a classmate was 75 years old.

from 18 onwards anyone can go to university. providing that is you have the appropriate qualifications to match. though if you're a mature student, then all universities admissions staff will accept you, even if you don't have or haven't obtained any GCSEs. there are no age restrictions at 18 and over. i didn't end up at university until i was 22. by the summer of that year when i was 22 i passed my access course in media, only to end up at university. however, i transfered to another uni because i was unhappy with the course and so a year later i moved to a different university. since then, i have enjoyed the current course that i am doing in media arts and i have since not looked back. alas, i am currently in my final year and hopefully graduate by the summer of next year at the age of 26. besides, there is a mature student on my course who is in her 30s. then again, there are plenty of mature students undertaking various types of degrees in a variety of subjects, so learning in itself isn't just for the recent school leaver at 16 or of whom just completed their studies at further education. it is a life learning process and experience in itself. as long as you show enthusiasm in your studies and enjoy not just learning as a student but enjoying the course immensely as well, then that's all that really matters

Officially you have to be 18. But if someone younger is gifted at a certain subject, then some universities will take them for a few hours each week to do that subject.
