Obviously you can't, but if with a magic wave of you hand or one of three wishes from a genie would you outlaw all, or some religions? What would be the penalty for breaking the law? I know this ia kind of an off the wall question, but if you can give a serious ans. I'd apreciate it.

I would "outlaw" things that tear society down. Some religions makes a society more cohesive, others divide and hurt a society. Obviously, not all religions are the same and lead to the same outcome. I think some religions are beneficial to society, while others are harmful.
Harmful religions I would do away with. Not by outlawing the religion itself, but outlawing the negative things some religions cause.
The penalty for breaking this would be counseling. They would would have to see a therapist. Perhaps blacklisted from positions of authority... But again, I would not prohibit anyone from believing what they want, as long as it doesn't damage society in a real way.

I would not ban religion because i do not want the responsibility of enforcing that law. It would be trying to outlaw a basic human behavior, I may as well try to ban Love or Art.

Who am I to dictate to the world that only my view is correct, anyhow. I would use the three wishes for other purposes. =)

While I don't think it would be right to outlaw religion, if I had a choice and a magical wish, I would wish for all humanity to mature enough to realize that religion is a farce that the human race would be much better without.

No. Religion is directly related to our various folkways. Folkways are related to laws and a good example would be municipal ordinances that vary from city to city. Most religions encompass oppositional forces, good and evil. I think religion serves not only to aid us mentally and spiritually, but it also helps maintain a level of order. I fundamentally believe this, however the down side of religion is conflict between different religions. War among men will occur with or without the presence of religion. I wouldn't outlaw it because it serves a dual purpose.

No. A world without any kind of religion would be peaceful indeed, but even if you can change the law, you cannot change people's beliefs. If anything, such a law would lead to more problems as many dedicated to their faiths would be sure to retaliate against law makers and law enforcers.

I think this would be impossible as you can't stop humans searching for answers to the big questions, such as why are we here, how should we behave. Most of us need to believe something to give us answers to these questions. But I'd make significant changes to the power the Church has - its disturbing how influential it is in so many matters.

Religion is the way many people relate to God. As a Christian, I have a relationship with God through Jesus. I do not see this as a religion. Would I outlaw religion? No. I do pray that many who claim to be religious (radical Islam, for one) will find a truer, more peaceful path. As far as I am concerned, Jesus IS the Way, the Truth and the Light. God Bless.

religion in it's self is. I'm a christian but i don't believe in religion. Religion is very legalistically and Jesus came to set us free from religion so i think religion should be outlawed. thankfully Christianity isn't about religion it's about a relationship with the creator

Religion is outlawed. Everything that man knows about God is false and men have leaned to there own understanding. This is why he says be as children. Children cannot do for themselves they need there parents. So there are only a few in the whole univers that know the truth. And if do know the truth they just don't want to be bothered with it.

NEVER. Too many believers have told me that religion is necessary to morality. If not having a religion means all those folks will be murdering stealing assaulting others and disregarding traffic regulations, then I want them to keep thier faith at all costs!
