Proselytizing is the same as political campaigning. It is a right of an individual to try and convince other individuals that they have a better path to follow. There is nothing wrong with proselytizing. Just as some may proselytize an atheist stand point, so too, Christians and others have a right to push their world view. I am sure you have views that you believe very strongly in and try to convince people that you are correct in your views. The mere fact that you argue for no proselytizing is proselytizing your point of view, is it not?

Well yeah I think so unless there is a sepperate board to specifically try to convert people.

However I dont see anything wrong with people here sharing their beliefs. But on ANY side, it turns into "JOIN US!!" Even the atheists are guilty of this. However, if it was prohibited, people would start claiming others are proselytizing simply by sharing what they believe. If someone isnt interested in what other faiths have to say, they really shouldnt come to this site.

We all should be allowed to lay our beliefs out in the open for others to see, as long as these are legal and not harmful.

Sometimes the question is phrased in such a way that the answer can only appear as proselytizing.

Personally, I prefer to state my views and the reasons for these, Scriptural or otherwise. It matters not to me how others view these as long as I am being accurate and honest, and answering the question or addressing a point in the message and responses.

What each one does with the information thus presented is entirely up to that individual.

No. there is various of atheists who attempt this. also, in the experience that they are answering a question, then it counts as an answer. also, how did you comprehend if someone is a pastor or not, it ought to nicely be a baby in his basement or an atheist. heavily, until eventually this is something particularly offensive (pornography, "i'm gonna kill you") i do not have self belief there's a reason to record. besides, lets make room for all sorts of peole (Alan Alda guy, Corinthians guy) I advise it makes this position funner. for my section "Lion Sack" became my well known guy and he continually used to submit the most insightful issues. Random, yet insightful.

Define what is and isn't proselytizing?

I think it would be much easier to allow it as an expression of free speech but to ignore it. Much like spam email.

Are you looking for a forum where no one voices opinions and beliefs that are contrary to yours? Only certain voices get freedom of speech? You "open minded" people sure are into exclusivity. Funny, you never hear Christians saying that unbelievers shouldn't be allowed to present their positions.

Part of me says yes because it's damn annoying. Another part of me says no because that would be inhibiting free speech.
