They didn't. Christians did. The gospels do not mean anything to Jews.

They got saved...the easy answer. It wasn't like the Jewish people thought that they could. Peter got a vision to go to a Roman officials house (well that's what the vision meant) and the official got saved and spoke in tongues as he was filled by the Holy Spirit. The Jewish leader in the church said that the Gentiles had to get circumcised- not something that the Gentiles were looking for- and a council ruled that since the Gentiles were getting saved and filled with the Holy Spirit without getting circumcised then why should they be forced to. Paul spoke mainly to the Gentiles since he found a lot of the Jewish people didn't want to listen to him. So you can see it was an interesting history-but easy answer-they got saved.

Churches sprung up all over asia(Turkey ) and southern Europe to start with.
