Ok, my ex and I broke up about 2 months ago....we dated for 4 months...I miss her alot still. I was wondering do you think it would be cool or stalkerish to send her a card for christmas with a small present in a small box wrapped that has something inside of it that represented our relationship, and in the card ask her to meet me for dinner. I would be having this sent to her at work. Does this sound lame and pathetic? or a good idea?

Sorry, sounds a bit lame to me since you're handing it to her at work. Don't ever mix personal life and work. I wouldn't want my BF handing me stuff at work... well, except Valentine's Day, then I want him to send me flowers so I'll be the envy of the office.

I'd say give her the card and gift, maybe mail it to her home address if necessary, but don't ask her tomeet you for dinner. Wait and see what kind of response you get. If she says "Aw, that was soooo nice of you" then you can say "How about us having dinner sometime?" but if she says "I can't accept this" then you know she doesn't want to have anything to do with you.

Tell us more, though. Why did you two break up? Just drift apart or did you do something to make her mad enough to drop you?

The card doesn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe even put in it the option for dinner plans.

DO NOT send a present with anything sentimental about your relationship. That's just creepy. And if she's not interested at all, you'll ruin any chance of being able to be friends.

No, No, and NO! Send a card- privately, over computer or such. No gift, and make the card simple and friendly such as- Happy Holidays- thinking of you and wishing you a very merry Christmas. ~Joe.
Simple! Great Scots man! Don't sell yourself out for a quarter! What you are wanting to do says- I still haven't found anyone. I am lonely. Boo Hoo, can I buy some affection? Get dressed up, go out, and find a new one!

On what terms did you break up? Are you still speaking? If it was a bad breakup then it will seem a little weird. If you broke up on all right terms then it may be ok to send a card, but I'd save the present for a face to face meeting. (That is ONLY if you are on good terms.)

Don't. It is lame and pathetic, especially doing it at her work place. That is like asking someone to marry you at a football game. Public pressure will make her resent you even more. Why don't you wait until after the holidays, then call her? Test the waters without applying pressure, bribes or guilt. You may stand a better chance. I hate it when guys do stuff like you are suggesting. It traps me and I refuse to participate.

That sounds so sweet & I dont think its stalking if you only ask once & if she says no leave it alone but if you do that I have to say its the sweetest thing I ever heard ..... oh but before you do that you might want to make sure she is not dating anyone new because if she is you might mess up a relationship & lose her friendship for good.... be careful but if she's single I say go for it Im a girl & Id love for my husband to do something sweet like that & we're not even fighting... good luck

Since you give no details about why you and your ex broke up, it's hard to answer your question. But I think that if you miss her, and want her to know that you do, it wouldn't be a bad gesture, if you want to make the first move towards talking about your relationship. If she is interested in reconciling, or even being friends, I think she will accept your invitation. If she is ready to move on, my guess is she will decline and say so.

DON'T do this to her unless you are serious about possibly reviving the relationship. If you are really interested in her, and you are serious about getting back together, then go for it. If you're not and you still want to be friends, make that VERY very clear. If you don't tell her exactly what you want, then you're just leading her on, and that's really mean. But, if you make things clear that you either just want to be friends, or you are really serious about continuing the relationship, then go for it! Best of luck.

A card isn't a bad idea, but she's an ex for a reason. Move on. Find someone new to take your mind off her.
