You don't gain weight from eating fruits....you gain weight from eating too many calories.
Fruits are healthy and contain vitamins and antioxidants that are good for your body.
But if you consume too many calories - more than your body needs for the day- you will store the excess as fat.
Certain fruits are high in calories more so than others
1 cup of chopped apples has 65 calories as compared to 1 cup of mashed banana which has 200 calories.
so instead of having two bananas between meals, select a lower calorie fruit
www.calorie-count.com is a good site to find out how many calories are in your favorite fruits.
Don't stop eating fruits just manage your calories throughout the day.
Good Luck

yes fruits have sugar and can possibly make you gain weight. But you are better off eating these types of "simple" sugars than eating a candy bar that is a "complex" sugar. Experts say to eat fruits/vegetables between meals so that you eat less at meal times. If you eat these healthy types of snacks you are more likely to be less hungry during meal times. Also the vitamins found in these fruits & veggies help to keep you healthy

The sugars in fruit are natural, thus they are better for you. Also like another person said with any food if eaten more than necessary weight can will be possible. Plus with fruit you have the added protection of fiber and antioxidants. Try to consume 3-5 servings of different fruits per day.

you will gain weight from fruit if you are eating copious amounts of it! But, the sugar in fruit is different than the sugar in candy and such. Fruit also has many other nutrients in them that your body needs, so I would listen to the Dr. on this one....an apple is much better for you than a candy bar.

Yes, fruits have sugar in them as well as fibre. The amount of sugar is a complex sugar that your body has to work at in order to break down. The fibre is both soluble and non-soluble which your body neads for proper function.
If your eating other foods then fruits, your more then likely eating high calories.
eighty-six the diet foods and drinks.Research has proven in most cases they don't work. I could write a book on death for diet by-products.

most things have sugar in them, or are turned to sugar in the body. Fruit has more natural sugars than processed foods. Eating ANYTHING to excess is a bad idea!!!

Fruits are good for you.
Fruits have sugar in them.
They also have natural vitamins, and natural bulk. They help to fill you up.
People who eat a lot of fruits and vegetables are much healthier (and slimmer) than those who eat a lot of packaged food.

they have some but not nearly as much as a candy bar or some other alternative that people eat between meals
go to nutritiondata.com and see how many calories your favorite fruit has vs a snickers bar. bet its less than half.
