Sorry dear, while its possible to have friends of the opposite sex, it is NOT possible with someone who is interested in you. How can it be when the person is waiting for his chance? There is a woman that I know with whom I am considered a distant friend. She knows that I'm there and I leave it at that. See, she has a boyfriend and she knows that I am interested in her. I respect her relationship as long as she does. But the moment she opens any door for me to be with her even if only for one night, I'm going for it without hesitation. She keeps me at arms length, laughing at my jokes and my attempts to see where she's at with her boyfriend. The attraction is both ways as she has even come to my desk to tease me with her long legs. She's committed to her boyfriend but she knows the deal! Its like vultures waiting for a lion to leave his kill if only for a moment just to get a scrap. That's what your "friend" is doing and you're playing with fire keeping him close. On one hand I feel wrong for telling you this because I believe that I am hurting the brother's chance from hooking up with you, but on the other hand, I've been in your man's shoes and while I hesitantly allowed this "friendship" to avoid conflict and not seem insecure, it did eventually lead to her cheating. So, I'm also trying to spare your man's feelings. Sorry my brothers, I don't normally block, but I've got to do this. You are one argument away from doing something stupid... and couples always argue. But that's just my opinion. I do not want a woman that has such a friend as I like I said, I've been there... what you have to ask yourself is are you that naive or is there another reason for why you keep that other brother around?

Yes it is possible. I mostly have guy friends and very few girlfriends. My best friend, is a guy I've known for 12 years, we dated for 2 of those, but realized that we are much better as friends. There are no romantic feelings there or anything else.
As for the other parties involved. There should be enough trust and maturity in the relationship for it not to bother the other person.

I say YES! I once dated this guy named Roy for over 3 years. Pretty much the whole time we knew we were better friends but since we were such GOOD FRIENDS, it was very hard to end it. We finally did, and after about 4 years I got married to someone else. But as soon as about 6 months after me and Roy broke up, we became friends. VERY GOOD FRIENDS. I now consider him one of my BEST friends. I remember crying at work once because my school changed my degree and made my work study alot harder on me, and Roy was there to give me a hug and tell me I would be fine. He is a great friend, and now him and my husband are friends too. Its a good thing. Its completely plutonic, although once in a while there are jokes about how we've seen eachother naked or we tell Horror stories about the stupid things we would fight about. It was pretty crazy. But I wouldnt change me and his relationship for anything. We are the greatest of friends. Hope this helps.

In high school my best friend was a guy. It bothered my ex that we were so close. He got so ridiculously jealous even though there was nothing going on between us (we really were just best friends) so I had to dump my b/f cause I wasn't about to be with a guy who couldn't handle me having guy friends. My new boyfriend, now husband of almost 9 years had no problem with me having guy friends, he became friends with most of them...he has his share of lady friends but they're my friends too now so it works out. Just so long as the person you're dating is the type to handle it maturely.

Yes ! I had a very dear friend Nargis whom I never met we used to chat on cell, talk to her about her & her family as we both were married. She was really very dear to me & I still miss her. Do you know why I loved her so much Bcoz the very first time we came to know each other she told me she was a cancer patient & had very few days of life left. I became deeply touched by her honest & we continued our friendship. Her husband even once visited my city and came to my place but unfortunately I could not visit her. I still remember the night I got call from her husband from hospital that she is no more. I still miss her as she was the best friend I had in my life time. The best part of our short story is she was a muslim lady & me a hindu.

It is possible but in such a case when you are already in a relationship and another person is interested in u he/she will finally give up when you don't respond to the stimulus he/she provides and then he/she has to come back to friendship. this friendship however may be a little cold after all this or/and he/she may want to avoid you slightly as he/she may be a little uncomfortable after the episode. you will need to strengthen you friendship with him/her with efforts from your side and make him/her fell comfortable again before your friendship returns to it's origional shape. But all this about the friendship after the crsh is case specific and not always does it happen.

personally i can only be friends with women that im not attracted to. There are women out there that i am attracted who have bad attitudes but i dont want anything to do with them, so i guess the answer is a male cant be just friends with a female unless they are already in love with someone else or they are not attracted to you.

I used to think it was okay but it never was. My best friend has liked me for about five years, and every time I would date a new guy he'd get mad at me or hide that he was mad at me and things would be kind of werid. 95% of my friends are guys and I made a rule for myself that I won't befriend another guy unless it's really a friendship. I've been in many situations where the guy gets really bitter when I start to date a new guy.

Do you've acquaintances of both sexes? certain I do. Do you discover you've a diverse friendship with acquaintances of an same sex than you do with acquaintances of the option sex? i detect my friendships each and every address their personal dynamic, so that they are all diverse. Do you discover you're better "your self" or better "smooth" round similar sex acquaintances or diverse sex acquaintances? i might want to no longer make a huge massive difference depending upon gender, yet there are human being transformations, surely some acquaintances with whom i'm better open than others. Do you imagine it truly works or no longer? are you able to truly have opposite sex acquaintances and there not in any respect be any factors of "sexual chemistry"? certain, sexual chemistry isn't inevitably a ingredient to a m/f friendship. from time to time there is, from time to time there's no longer. Do you imagine it makes any massive difference once you've brothers AND sisters as to who's agency you want? no longer truly, yet then i'm better prone to have diverse thoughts about the elements at play in each and every human being friendship, and not in any respect going to make sweeping generalisations about acquaintances on the idea of gender. I had a brother and no sisters, my relationship with my brother change into no longer a sturdy one inspite of the actuality that because he has schizophrenia, despite the indisputable fact that the shortcoming of primary sibling relationships in my existence did not look to effect upon my decision of acquaintances, besides the actual undeniable actuality that come to imagine of it, perchance it does tell my lifelong love of solitude. I did continuously wish for a actual brother or a huge sister at the same time as i change right into a baby inspite of the actuality that!

It is possible as long as both parties have a mutual understanding that you are just friends and nothing more. If one cannot take that, then you better off not even being friends with that person.
