I gotta say, there's something special about geeks as they grow up. They usually really know how to make a girl feel like a real lady. Polite, helpful, all around the best guys in the world to me.
PS Even if you are still uncomfortable around girls, that shy thing is adorable. As long as you don't let it get the best of you, eventually the girl for you will appear.

Most _girls_ don't think much of nerds, but some _women_ love us. It depends on whether or not she's grown up enough to realize that none of the emotional things that she wants from a relationship are available from bad boys.
However, there is a distinction between a nerd and a geek. Nerds are highly curious people who tend to collect information because they enjoy doing so. Geeks have little in the way of social skills and even less fashion sense. Some geeks are also nerds, but nerds are not necessarily geeks. My oldest brother and I are both nerds, but we are also award-winning athletes -- and both quite popular with the ladies (he moreso than me). If appealing to women is a concern, you can't go wrong by dressing well and knowing how to hold a polite conversation. Nerdy is OK, especially with intelligent women, but geeky will kill you every time.

It has been my experience that immature girls- younger girls who lack self confidence- think lowly of what most people call "geeks." As girls mature, however, we get a keener sense of what is important in a man and find different things sexy. Success, intelligence, and humor, for example, are three virtues "geeks" often possess and many mature women find them wildly attractive. Look at Jennifer Aniston with Vince Vaughn, Heather Locklear with David Spade, and Jenny McCarthy with Jim Carrey.
Personally, I find "nerds" way more attractive than "meat-heads."

That would depend on the girl. Some girls like nerds/geeks and some don't. I would date a nerd/geek if he was sincere and respectful over a guy who wasn't a geek but was disrespectful and fake any day.

If by nerds and geeks you mean guys who are studious, but weat glasses, I can tell you that some of these guys turn out to be good guys. After all these guys who are usually think and weird looking, according to the definition, can always go to the gym and also have a makeover and look much beter in a few months.
For the guys who are well built and popular, it will take a few years to acquire a "brain."
I think all in all a girl likes to look up to her man, who has a superior IQ. That is why power and wealth attract women so much.

Yes, some girls are but to me it doesn't matter if a guy is a nerd or a geek. What matters is there personality. Are they sweet and kind, loving, caring, etc. I don't care what my man is labeled its just a label that someone gave him what matters is what is on the inside. Good luck in all you do!

I'm attracted to "nerds" because they usually seem more unique. They don't seem to worry so much about what other think of them and seem to be more genuine. By nerd I don't necessarily mean skinny with glasses... hot nerds are even better ;) I try not to, but tend to think lowly of people who think lowly of themselves.

Personally, nerds/geeks are the guys I am most attracted to.
I am much more attracted to someone with whom I can hold an intelligent conversation, than to someone who may be attractive, but whose vocabulary is limited to 'i like your boobs'.
