if you go to some place that turns a blind eye to parental consent, chances are they will turn a blind eye to safety and health hazards. a tattoo done by some uncredited fly by night moron could leave you with a life time of pain. You could catch some disease like hepatitis, or worse. or the tatto could just look like crap, and you will be stuck with it forever. sure you may like whatever you are getting a tattoo of now, but you are young and your ideals are always shifting, in a couple years you might not like what you got a tattoo of anymore.

do it yourself. i have 3 tattoos i've done myself - a maple leaf on my back, words on my knees, and a heart on my ankle. here's what you do.

1) Get a sewing needle and wrap thread around it almost to the point - leave about half a millimeter.
2) Get some good India ink, and dip the wrapped needle into the ink
3) Poke the needle into your skin repeatedly until you have the design you want, where you want.

Yes, it hurts like hell. Yes, it will take a long time. But it's also a really personal thing to do, and it means alot when its done. If you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, let them give it to you. It's a really great experience. Obviously, sanitize the needle, and draw the design on first with a ballpoint pen. Other than that - go for it. Keep a damp towel around to wipe the ink off, and blood. If it doesnt come out, push the thread up and go deeper.

Good luck.

You can get a tattoo without a parent signature if you are 18 or older. if you are younger than 18 then you would need a parent signature.

You can't! Your best bet is to just wait til you're 18 and you can make the right decision. You don't want to go to any kind of tattoo party or anything like that because you then run the risk of a deep infection and serious health problems. Wait till you're old enough to make the proper decision and go to a clean professional.
A tattoo is forever and you don't want to regret what you do. Do your research, wait til you're an adult, and go to a respectable clean professional.

Any decent, reputable shop will not tattoo anyone under the legal age without parental consent.

If you are under age, and they agree to tattoo you, chances are they are not a good shop to be going to in the first place.

Have fun with that.

get those kind that require water to appear on the skin or the ones that you rub the quarter on the back to press it onto your skin...show your parents and let them react naturally to it...if they are cool about it ask them to sign for it...if they freak you know that getting a tattoo without your parents knowing about it could be a bad idea...what happens if God forbid you got sick or infected from it would it be better to tell them about it then when you need their help to go to the ER for a shot?
