"I know do you"... a Eunuch is primarily defined as a man who has has his testes removed. However, a second defintion which I believe the author of the question has overlooked is a man whose testes are non functioning (see www.dictionary.com)
In fact, my version of the bible, the New Internation Version" has a different transalation:
"and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven".
Read the verse in context and this makes more sense:
9) (Jesus is speaking) "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
10) The disciples said to him, "If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry."
11) Jesus replied, "Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given.
12)For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it."
Also, how can one "be fruitful and multiply" (genesis 9:7) with no equipment?
hope this helps

I know... Do you?? A eunuch is a man with no penis. I believe the concept of eunuchs was started by the Egyptians. They were slaves who were in charge of bathing the queens and other female royalty. You never had to worry about them "trying something" if you know what I mean.

In what way does that passage (even though it's certainly taken out of context) even suggest that Christian men should be eunuchs?

7They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
8He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it

i'm unsure why you think of it is commanding castration. Christ is explaining how assorted eunuchs got here to be that way. and since the final occasion he notes that some have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the dominion. some have faith that "make themselves eunuchs" meant castration -- whilst some have faith it a determine of speech for figuring out to proceed to be celibate (which, of course, lots of priests and clergymen have accomplished for the sake of the dominion, of their view). yet regardless of which way one interprets the expression, no longer something in that passage demands that drastic decision. Jesus only stated, "He that's able to get carry of it, enable him get carry of it." In different words, Jesus is asserting if one is confident and arranged to make that decision because of the conviction that that's something that could facilitate one's ministry in the dominion, "enable him achieve this." It jogs my memory only a sprint the "pluck out your eye" fairly than to enable your eye sin. yet needless to say, an eye fixed has no will so it isn't any longer by using itself waiting to sin. So if so, the "pluck out" is a determine of speech calling upon Jesus' followers to take drastic measures if needed to stay away from sin. (And if somebody considered the "pluck out your eye" actually, upon mirrored photograph they could comprehend that removing one's eyes could do no longer something to stay away from the sins of lust or coveting -- because of the fact sins are rooted interior the human will and not in a undeniable sensory organ like the attention. and thanks to this blinding oneself could be futile in combating those sins because of the fact even human beings born blind can nevertheless sin in those techniques.) So i think of Jesus replaced into making a similar factor approximately being prepared to sacrifice or take drastic action if one is confident God is calling one to such action. no be counted if plucking out an eye fixed or castrating oneself, the message is taking drastic action if one is confident God is calling for it -- yet on an identical time that's understood that we would desire to continually no longer assume inevitably that God many times demands that form of decision.
