You have told us very little. No one can give you a value without details, and even if we did, there's no guarantee that you'd get that amount. Every claim is different.
Where did this happen? How old are you? What is your general health condition? What was your injury? Did you treat immediately? What kind of doctor did you see and how much treatment did you get? What were the findings of your diagnostic tests? Have you had an injury like this before. It's not about the bills!!!

You're leaving out a whole lot here. Were you the driver, or a passenger? Was any part of the accident your fault? Lots of things would make a difference, but assuming you were 100% not at fault, you are entitled to have your losses made whole. If the entire $20,000 worth of hospital bills were for normal necessary treatment, you are entitled to get that amount, assuming none of them were covered by other insurance policies since you can't be paid twice and make a profit on your injuries. You are also entitled to what it took to put your vehicle back into the same shape it was in before the accident. Beyond that, I don't have a clue. Are you entitled to pain and suffering? Maybe. Lost wages as a direct result of the accident? Probably. What does YOUR insurance company say? Assumedly they have investigated and have all the information, which would put them in the best position to answer your questions.

You can expect to pay an attorney 1/3 of your settlement. Are you dealing with your own insurance paying you or was someone else found at fault. What are the policy limits. If there is a policy limit of $10,000 that may be all you can get without suing the individual. Depending on what state you are in you may win a bunch of money and never be able to collect more than what the insurance limit is. Plus you will have the court cost and legal bills. How insurance companies try to set a settlement offer is based on not only what your current loses are. Not only medical bills but lost wages, repairs to your vehicle, rentals car, ect. But also what your future pain and suffering, and medical expense will be.
