All of these have happened to me:
1. There was, what I thought was an impaired driver in front of me. I slowed down, and went around her slowly, staying as far from her as possible.
(It turns out she was DIALING her CELLPHONE while driving. ugh)
2. Driver is impaired and behind me, I would slow down, and slowly move into the right lane. If they follow me and move right as well, I would slow down more and pull over very slowly.
If they continue to follow me and pull over, I will get back on the road, and drive to the nearest police station. If they are still following me, they will end up with a dui in the police parking lot.
3. If the driver is approaching me, I will get over as far to the right as I can to get out of their way, and apply the brakes until I stop.

1.I can slow my car to a speed that won't hinder anyone behind me.then proceed to the right of the impaired driver and exit.2.I can see that this driver is having problems with driving, either weaving, start-stopping.The best thing to do is to try and clear the lane to let the driver pass and get the attention for him to pull over.3. The best reaction is safely change lanes and safely exit .
