There are a few reasons that Islam in this forum probably runs into some criticism. Denying that Jesus is the messiah is not one of them, since Islam actually does acknowledge that Jesus is the messiah. In the Hadith, Mohammed frequently refers to Jesus as the Messiah son of Mary, and predicts that Jesus will one day rule the world, with the Mahdi alongside him as the chief Imam.
Criticism of Islam in this forum results from a few things:
- As a response to aggressive Islamic proselytizing. Jews don't spend a lot of time trying to convert Christians. But Muslims do, so naturally, Christians are more apt to reverse the equation and proselytize in return (or issue apologetics in response.)
- As a result of current affairs in the news. There are a billion plus Muslims, so inter-religious debate is obviously going to be noisier with there being so many more issues involving these larger religions.

PEACE
Correction, muslims do recognise him as the messiah. I really don't know why people say things like that. Pardon self, yes I do. Not wanting to READ. The first order given to muhammad(pbuh). Muslims even believe that jesus(isa) will return on the day of judgement and judge all of mankind. The difference is, it will be by the quran. Muslims do recognise the christ as the messiah, but not son of GOD or GOD. But a prophet.
EDIT: I just noticed that I have not answered your original question. So to answer, I really don't know. I will mostly blame it on the media because if anyone goes out into society and talks with a real muslim, I can just abut guarantee thier view of islam will change dramatically. Then they can see what the media is really capable of. Directing one's own belief and anger into transgression. And there are more muslims than one would percieve. Some are just adjusted to the modern world and keep thier peace.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of misconceptions and hatred toward Islam even before 9/11, and 7/7.
And certainly, history would state that Muslims and Jews, and Muslims and Christians can peacefully coexist, side by side, without violence or war.
This can only happen, however, when there is peace within the hearts of both sides, and unfortunately, our leaders are corrupted, and cause us to stray from the peace all sides seem to desperately want.
P.S.
It's interesting to note that, religiously, and ideologically, Jews and Muslims have far more in common the Jews and Christians.

If their reason for critisizing Islam was simply because they didn't accept Jesus, then you are correct, it is somewhat silly considering that Judaism (or any other religion for that matter) dom as the Messiah.
My friend has a saying about that regarding Christian missionaries: "Why target other people for missionizing who are already monotheists when there are many more polytheists and atheists?"
However, if that critism is based on the Islamic fundamentalism that is growing worldwide and is the theological basis for jihad against the West, then such critisms are well justified.

Most Christians pity Jews. Christians get mad at Mohammed or Islam for the violence it proposes at times. But Christianity is no better. It too, along with Judaism and Islam worships eternal damnation as some sort of resolution of life's problems. It just does it differently than Islam and that is the crux of the problem. Two sacred concepts worshipping two separate beings as being the pinnacle of their belief system, and separate reasons for going to the "eternal damnation" or "heaven" and then saying that there is One God. This eternal damnation is defined as infinite separation from the One God that they all say is everywhere! Kind of impossible from a logical point of view and yet they hang onto this for dear life.....or death in some cases, willing to kill over their disagreements about it's truth! Kinda ironic isn't it?

Good question. Someone once told me that Christians and Jews believed the same thing. They are together and against Muslims. I don't know. Muslims do believe that Jesus is the Messiah meaning that he will come back down to earth to save his people.

It simple. Christians respect Judaism to a certain extent because they know this as a historical step in the history of their faith, even though Jews are wrong not to recognize Christ.
Islam, on the other hand is a false religion, and one that pends to be the true message from their own god. It is bad as no mere heresy is.
This is not a new thing, remember the Crusades.

Along with all above answers from my brothers and sisters , I have heard that when anti-christ will come being a king of jews and will be killed by jesus(pbuh) then all the jews will convert to christainity. thats why they have soft cornor for them.
Umm well I would say that media is playing a great role in it. few redicals are responsible for terrorism but the whole muslim community is linked to it.

No, it is because without Judaism we would have no knowledge of sin or the fact that Jesus is the Messiah, they had the prophsies and laws that Jesus came to fullfill(and He did so, every prophsicy made about the massiah was fullfilled by Jesus, from were He was born to how and were He would die.)
