I was diagnosed with fribromyalgia last year, and since yesterday, I have never ever had as much pain as I am now in. The weather got cold out here in the San Francisco Bay Area and I am wondering if that could affect it? It is also making me feel depressed since I am a breast cancer person, and my mind wandered to whether it is not the fribomyalgia, but whether the cancer returned to the bone. Does anyone know how the pain for bone cancer feels.

Thanks for your help.

I don't know how the pain for bone cancer feels, but as a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer I do know that fibromyalgia is a neurological disorder of hypersensitivity. That means that EVERYTHING affects how you feel more than it would with the FMS. Your nervous system reacts more strongly to the weather, tastes, pain, a weird smell, an itchy sweater, or harsh lighting more strongly than it did before you developed fibromyalgia.

Do you have regular checkups to make sure the cancer hasn't returned, though?

Greetings fellow breast cancer survivor! Yes, aches and pains definitely take on new meaning after having cancer, don't they? Here is what I have heard about bone pain- it's excruciating. It's worse than fibro pain- which can definitely be affected by weather. My advice is to cozy up next to the fire with a nice glass of sonoma valley wine. Peace and good luck.

My fibro pain is greatly affected by the weather!! Stoopid me I live in Ohio!! I am at my best in Spring and Fall! As the previous poster/answerer said your pain could be related to poor circulation as well!! I would go have a check up anyway!

We fibromyalgia patients are DEFINITELY affected by the weather & usually tolerate cold weather badly. It is the same with other related illnesses, such as lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, & scleroderma.
I'm assuming you are visiting a rheumatologist or a dr. of internal medicine to have received your diagnosis for fibromyalgia. Please think about seeing them again & also, of course, your oncologist. Another checkup for both your fibromyalgia & your cancer couldn't hurt.

fibromyalgia could be affected by the weather as it will affect your blood flow. Which may be a cause of increased pain
