VOB AVI Conversion issues?

Hello, ive been trying to find free ware to convert my VOB file to and AVI file but everytime i do, i get a annoying watermark or the freeware copies 1/3 of the file only. since this is the 1st and last time ill be converting like this, i do not wish to purchase software, but does anyone have any ideas or know any way i can make the conversion?

best program is tmpengc from http://www.tmpgenc.net/en/e_main.html
this is free to download and free to use and doesnt leave any water marks, so will make a dvd from your vobs/avi's
