Children follow the religion of their father.
To insure that the children will be raised Muslim and believe in Islam the father must be Muslim.

Because in Islam, the children take on the faith of the father. And the woman is charged with raising the children. And in this scenario, it's feared that the woman will teach the children of another faith, and lose her faith in Islam while she attempts to do so.
This, of course, isn't always the case.
There are marriages between Muslim women and Non-Muslim men. I know of one in particular, and they worked out just fine. They simply sat down and decided that they would teach their children about both Islam, and Judaism, since to a Muslim, the two aren't conflicting. They saw no issue with it.
This rule you speak of was an important guidline at the time to preserve the faith of Islam when it was being attacked and changed throughout the world.
Besides... as a Muslim woman, I wouldn't want to marry a non-Muslim, to be honest. Islam is an entire way of life. I want to pray my 5 daily prayers with my husband and my children. I want to make halal foods for us all to eat together, at a table. I don't see what's wrong with that.

i dont find any problem with a muslim women marrying an EX-NON Muslim man..the man MUST convert to Islam and then the both of them can get married..i am a muslim women and my husband was a convert.. and our 3 beautiful children are raised in Islam way. and my husband does not having any problem with that..
its only need a honest heart to embrace Islam and gets married to the person you love.
there is no need any logical explaination on this..maybe some countries..its like a taboo for them to get marry to a different faith..but not in my country where we choose to live our lives on our own way..

Because the child takes the name of his father and his religion so if he is non muslim the child won't be muslim..and Allah ordered us that to make the muslim nation bigger....but if the father married noin muslim woman there is no problem so the child will be in his religion...thats all.

because usually the man rules the family, and in islam the rules of the family should be picked according to islam !! and if the guy isnt muslim he cannot do this! but muslim men can marry non-musilm women, coz he set the rules (supposedly!)

Simply because the father is the one who dictates what faith the children should grow up in if she married a Jew or a Catholic man they would want the children to be raised Jewish or Catholic. Perfectly logical.

the childrens sake. they become confused and do not know which religion to pick and in many cases simply give up on religion and not believe in God. Also, men and women with different religions would be more likely to fight over it.

I don't see the logic in it at all. Is it that people marry religion or people marry people according to thier love not thier belief. When it comes down to it , it is a type of racism and one that I believe is unacceptable.

simple......it's because the man dominates the relationship. and if he was a christian for example and she was muslim, there would be the possibility that he would convince her to convert to his religion. and any children they may have.
