Yeeeessss ssseeerrroooqqqquell will make you feel like you're druuuuuuuunk or coming out of a bad hangover.
Sorequel is a mild atypical antipsychotic, used in treating schizophrenia, bipolar mania, anxiety, irritability and insomnia.
Seroquel really only has one side effect where it is HIGHLY sedating.
Seroquel is prescribed to people who are substance abusers for anxiety, vs. the typical antianxiety medication, benzodiazepines, because seroquel is non-addictive and has no withdrawal syndrome.

I don't know if I would use the term "dopey" or not, I do know that when I was on it it literally knocked me out almost immediately to the point I would be sound asleep for a minimum of 9 hours, and my dosage was only 2 1/2 mg per day. Of course depending on how long you have been on it (as with all medications) it is possible to become "immune" to it and start to require higher doses. As far as any good experiences with it, none at all for me, but then again the doctor who put me on it did not do any type of testing to determine if it was actually needed or not, just decided "well, her husband just left to go to war, let's put her on drugs".

Every person repsonds to each medication differently so just because it makes one person feel one way does not mean it will make you feel that way. We use seroquel frequently at the nursing home I work at so it is a good drug. If your doctor has prescribed it for you I would start taking the drug so he can see if it is the right drug for you. The longer you wait to start taking it the longer it will take for you to get relief of what ever you need the meds for.

Seroquel will make you feel a little when you first start taking it. But as time progresses the "dopiness" will decrease. Hope this helps.
