My mother maintained that frozen Turkey was dry. So the first time I cooked a traditional English Christmas dinner I order a 4kg. fresh turkey, for four adults (two of them my ageing parents who didn't eat very much) and 2 young children. When I went to collect it on Christmas Eve, I was presented with a monster 10 kg. turkey. They hadn't got any smaller birds. I thought we would be eating it til Easter. Next year, my younger brother-in-law and his wife, both with hearty appetites came for Christmas. I ordered a large turkey. What did I get? Something about the size of a slightly large chicken. Since then I've bought frozen. At least I know what weight it is. As long as you cook it slowly, it doesn't seem to make any difference.

No, a fresh turkey from a farm that's minimally processed and has no solution injections is much better than a frozen turkey. The flavor is awesome and you can taste the difference immediately. Being succulent is in the cooking process. Brush the turkey with either oil or melted butter and protect the breast with a double layer of aluminum foil.

All frozen food contains a lot of water, especially things like bacon.
Go for fresh instead.

Fresh is best dude. It's veggies that are better frozen as they are snap frozen as soon as they are picked. Veggies start losing nutrients as soon as they are picked so fresh ones have been lying around longer

Buy from a farm, or failing that a butcher and ask that he sources it locally.
Don't buy from a supermarket, the condition the animals are kept in are a disgrace, they are also fed an unnatural diet and, once slaughtered, pumped full of water to make them look bigger.

Fresh is always better. Frozen poultry is drier, which is why many are injected with that liquid put into the breast to keep it moist.
