Last night (around 2 am) I went to bed with a strange odor. I thought I was just having gastrointestinal problems from the Taco Bell I had earlier (around 6 pm). From the time I went in bed to the time I woke up, I could smell the acrid smell. Well, in the morning I started feeling a bit upset in the stomach because of the smell. I finally woke up at 5:30 to go take my shower, but half way through the door, I just vomited. And I vomited a lot.

I'm sorry if I grossed anyone out or anything of the sort. And please don't delete my question; I'm serious about this.

I would say that the vomiting was more a result of an upset stomach or food poisonimg, rather than just from inhaling your farts. Perhaps smelling the smell in the morning triggered you to vomit sooner, but I think it would have happened anyway.

Your bedcovers are made from fabric and therefore circulate air and oxygen very easily - they don't hold in the fart.

No, in fact, it helps me sleep. I enjoy the smell of my farts, even the bad one. It s comforting to me. And I lay out some pretty smelly ones. I live in an apt building and one time the neighbors complained to the manager, not knowing where the smells were coming from. I peeked out the window an hour later and firemen were walking around the parking lot looking for the source of the smell. Scared me. I quietly closed the window and turned on my bathroom fan and lit candles. Luckily, there s usually a strong enough breeze to keep the source of the smell a mystery. They think the building sits atop of a sewer line or something.

You did not get sick from the smell because it would have made you sick sooner. Something you ate did not agree with you and upset your GI tract. The acrid smelling gas might have been from the cheese if you had cheese on any of your food. In the future be sure you eat plenty of yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules to help keep your digestive flora healthy.

Farting under the covers wont make you sick. That's ridiculous. It is flu season, its probably just gastrointestinal flu and yes maybe the smell helped the nausea that lead to the vomiting but it did not cause the illness.

If you're farting alot, you're already on your way to being sick. It wasn't the gas that made you ill. If anything, it helped your innards heal by reducing pressure.
