One group of christians, the Nazis, called jews "untermenschen" to justify imprisoning and killing them. All christians have done the same thing throughout history, just to a lesser degree.

Why do christians act "superior"? They do it because they can't actually raise themselves, and their claim of being "better" is bullspit. The only way they can put themselves above others is to demean people.

Part of this diminution is the bullspit claim of "christians are forgiven" as one ignorant bigot claimed in another response. By saying "christians will be forgiven and nobody else will," the hypochristians are trying to rationalize criminal behaviours, trying to justify violence and murder against those they disapprove of.

You can't kill somebody until you make them into a criminal; that's a big part of why christians have been so anti-jew, anti-black, anti-woman, anti-atheist and anti-gay over time: the tactic of justified violence worked in the past and they think it will work now.

Because being a Christian entails believing that Jesus is the only way to heaven. That being the case they have to think every other religion is wrong whereas they are right. Hence the superiority complex. They do this with no regard to the fact that followers of other religions believe what they believe just as strongly as they do (if not more) and with no less supporting evidence. They also neglect to consider the fact that they could have just as easily been born a Jew or Muslim had they been born somewhere else in the world or raised by different parents - all a matter of chance. They'd then believe completely differently yet just as passionately. The fact of the matter is no one really knows what they're talking about. That's why I don't subscribe to any of these conflicting beliefs.

Christians aren't the only ones. Superiority is a part of every religion to some degree. It's just most prevalent in mono-theistic religions.

Once again I will tell you that Christians are not to blame for all every problem that you have. Once again I am sorry that someone who claims to be a Christian has hurt you. Jesus sent out a message of Love not of hate. Anyone who hurts other people is not carrying out Jesus' message. These people who are trying to convince you that you are going to Hell do actually believe in Hell. They are trying to show you love by keeping you from a terrible place. Think about it. Wouldn't you do the same thing if you believed that Hell existed and that people who did not accept Christ were going there?

> many christians beat up non christians on the streets

Individuals who commit such attacks should be held accountable for their actions and charged with a crime.

> or preach where they are not welcomed

If they are trespassing, they should be charged with trespassing. If they are preaching where free expression is lawful and appropriate, then they are committing no crime. I believe in the free marketplace of ideas and freedom of religion.

> some even try to convince non christians
> that they are going to hell

That's their viewpoint. It's their right to share their views, even those with which I disagree or find silly, like the existence of hell.

I am a Christian and I don't feel I am the most perfect, superior being. I am human just like everyone else I make my mistakes but that is the greatness of God he forgives... I have walked a million miles in my shoes and not once have I looked down on others Christian or non-Christian in the end we are all the same..

That's stereotype
you may just be hearing about a certain part of the christian group
but when you think about it
nobody's perfect
you just think this about a certain group because a few members of that group do something that goes against what you think and therefore you think the whole christian culture does no wrong and they think they're superior when really we're all equal

While all that you stated is true, you must alsow remember that not all of us are like that, there is a bad apple in every bunch. Look at the Islamic, Jewish, and Hindu; they also had simular problems. But unfortunatly nonchristians(other than Mentally ill and Children) are doomed for eternal hell... the bible says" none shall get to the father except through me" (Jesus was speaking ). I truly regret your feelings twords my religion, and I will pray for your safty, and that someday you will join God's children. Be safe my friend.

Your question isn't limited to Christians, but to people of every faith or lack thereof. Many people feel insecure if they don't 'know it all'. They cling to a belief system rather than admitting that they simply don't know. There are plenty of athiests as well I know who'll go at lengths to insult people of religious backgrounds and plenty of religious folk who do vice versa. If only everyone could understand the concept of tolerance, we wouldn't see questions like this every day.

You must of heard once in your life that your real enemy is the government where you live. Well, it's the truth about churches and some so called Christian groups.

It's all about pressure and seeing the truth. Everybody has their approach, you just ran into some you don't care for at all.

Now, the QUESTION: What's your approach?

They are trying to uphold christianity, however they are making it look bad. So many christians are trying to live the 'perfect christian life' when it far from possible.
The bible continuously tells stories of the prophet's struggles to be repentent, and none of them were truely peacefull and full of joy all the time. It is delusional, and unhealthy to think one can live this way. We all need God in our lives for guidance and support, if we cant be honest with ourselves, how can we be honest with God?
