Be writhing in hell by now? I was reading the pentauch the other day at service and saw that everything that we do today was condemnable by death. No using name of God in vain, no eating any creature that doesnt chew the cud..., no eating of clawed creatures(no turkeys ppl), ritual cleanliness after childbirth...(why is it that a woman can return to temple a week after a son but two weeks for a girl?) and a woman is unclean during her period and should remain home and away from men? We would all be stoned now wouldn't we? So based on this why do we judge others, Ye that is without sin shall cast the first stone?

Youre absolutely correct. Not one Christian pays any attention to THAT PART of the Bible anymore. Unless, of course, they feel like bagging on a gay person. Then they reach out with open arms to embrace their hateful Bible as PROOF that God hates gay people.....when in reality, God hates everyone that isnt a Jew.

Hey, dont blame me - its all written in the Bible!

I'm not a believer but I have studied the Bible and modern belief. The arguments you will get from apologists will be that Jesus made a new covenent with the people and the OT laws no longer apply, or at least some of them no longer apply. Then you get into the pick and choose scholarship that decides what is still applicable versus what is not longer applicable. You also see from this divisions within Christianity were some sects feel this or that laws does still apply in disagreement with others. Seventh Day Adventists for instance who believe holding the sabbath holy is still applicable to a higher degree.

Read the rest of it. The New Testament tells us that Jesus came to fulfill the law. The laws you refer to are just health related laws. There is no need for that anymore. Jesus told us we could eat whatever now. The unclean stuff, it just doesn't apply anymore. As far as using the name of the Lord in vain, that still applies, that is a law that refers to your heart and your actions.
And... We aren't supposed to go around judging those outside the church, we aren't casting stones. We are called to help guide our fellow believers in order to help them. I know we see it all the time, but it isn't what the Bible says we should be doing.

EXACTLY... A non-believer that understand the magnitude of the LAW!!!... I am impressed... If we don't live that law to the letter we are guilty before God and deserve Hell Fire... Jesus can and paid that penalty for us. We are now able to worship our God freely without worry about keeping a sets of rules. That is why Christians praise His name. Salvation now comes thru His grace through faith.. You really cheered me up this morning thanks.... Jim

1. A lot of the rules in the old testament were overturned in the new testament. Keep reading, you'll see it. I believe it's in the letters of Peter or Paul.

Read the new testament. We goes to the mouth is not unclean, that means we can eat whatever. It is what comes out of the heart that is unclean such as evilness, and sin.

But yet Jesus was sinless.
Amazing that Jesus was able to walk the law.
