Is it true about the Bible?

Someone answered one of my questions and said that the bible says that women should not be skanks. What about men, are they allowed to be skanks?

First, what is a skank?
That word is not in my Webster's Encyclopedic Dictionary, copywrite@2002.

I believe it is an idiom, brought about by colloquial usage
among American society.
I gather that the word itself has negative connotations, and is
used primarily to tell someone else that they are being referred to
as a person with somewhat lesser values than the person doing the name-calling.

Now, about the Bible and this term skank which is not appropriate
or apropos, its an insult to my way of thinking.
As far as men and women in the Bible being called skanks, thats
ridiculous, thats not right.

Women have every right to be respected, regardless of race, color, creed, or sex, that includes 2,000 years of Christian history,
and pre-Christian history.
And as far as making mistakes are concerned, that happens,
in everyone's lives, whether they like it or not, you cannot live
a human live, and not make errors in judgments, in daily living,
etc., perfect lives don't exist, except in a fictional world of Utopia.

You have to make the best of what you got, and run with it.

So as far as men be allowed to be called skanks, who is setting the rules? Laws of God, laws of Man, who?
I don't buy the notion that any name-calling suits any purpose, or serves any usefulness, its just a worthless term that some people still use to refer to others of whom they dislike or are under the influence of an emotional moment.

So, to sum up, the term skank should be dropped from the American English lexicon, and substitute a more useful and
logical term.

Since men wrote the bible and since men throughout history have controlled women, the answer to your question is yes, women should not be skanks but men can be.

No, the bible never actually talks about skanks, it says that all people should strive to be clean, this is because God aimed to prevent the diseases (like ring worm) that are started from unclenliness, and those from sexually unclean (such as aids). The only actual Laws are the ten commandments and the Golden Rule. Everything else is just guidlines for personal safty and well being.

While I'm not sure what "skanks" means, it sounds bad enough for me to say "no, men shouldn't be skanks". In any case, what's wrong for women is generally wrong for men too.

Unfortunately society only frowns upon women getting around. Men for some reason are allowed to have multiple parteners and gain respect among their peers. The world is all messed up.

Not sure what skank means. I think Abraham passing his wife off as his sister and marrying her off to a pharoah and then a king might qualify as skanky behavior. Then again she only did so because her husband told her to and he was one of God's favorites, so that must be alright then. ;-)

King David had 30 concubines and 10 wives Iif I am not mistaken, and has been promised the throne, meaning he has his spot in heavan. Woman was made for man, the bible never speaks of any woman having more than one partner ecept for the harlots. Judge for yourself.
