Screen your phone calls and answer when it conveniences you. I wouldn't completely ignore her, but also set a time when you won't answer the phone anymore (example after 9:30pm). You and your husband having time alone without being interupted is very important.

Have you told her to stop doing this?
If you have and she keeps doing this, then here are some ideas:
1. If she calls you at work, then say, "I'm sorry. I am no longer allowed to take personal calls at work. Bye." Then hang up. Do that every time and after about the fifth time if you can identify her as the caller, simply do not pick up.
2. Put your ringer to silent at home after 11pm. If she doesn't get an answer, then she'll stop.
You will need to be prepared to have a little conflict with her in order to get some peace.

Turn off the ringer of your phone and let the message machine take the calls. Speak with her brother, your husband and have him talk with her asking that she call only at your house and not the workplace and that these calls be less frequent. Or you could speak with her and tell her that all these calls could jeopardize your job so please not call you there. And be honest with her and let her know when and what times are good for her to call you at home. If she is draining you emotionally then you should also let her know that and that although you think the world of her that you need some down time with your new husband.

Ignore her calls and let her know that if she does want to speak to you, she needs only use one number, and at a decent time. Set some ground rules. Don't let her take over your life. Encourage her to get out and do things and get some friends, to hang out with people at her own job if she has one. Learn the art of voicemail, it's a wonderful little invention ;-). Hope this helps!

Tell her you are in bed early so to please call before nine. Then, when you speak with her, let her vent and then wrap it up.
And get caller ID and dont answer all of the time. And you could get in trouble at work, so let her know that and tell her you are unable to really help her while you are at work. Then give her a quality bit of time to listen at some point. She can only make you crazy if you let her. Good luck.

either stop answering her calls or just plain out tell her that you cant talk to her all the time, tell her that when you are working is not a good time unless it is an emergency and tell her at night you would like to spend time with your husband and get sleep. dont make it sound like you dont have time for her just tell her that once a night is fine.if that is acceptable for you. you'll figure out a way of doing it with out breaking her heart, but she needs to understand that you have your own life to deal with. good luck

Use your caller ID and ignore her calls for a little while and she should get the message.
