That is a gentle case of a rejected piercing. In some cases, the area is more red, the scar is larger and the area can be indented inward.

While rejecting, piercings often have large amounts of pus, usually yellowish. The area around the holes will be sore, red and inflamed. During rejection you will be able to see more of the jewelry visible. Keep in mind, some movement and settling is normal, is it refered to a migration. Migration is subtle movements, which can eventually lead to rejection which is when the jewelry is completely pushed from the body.

It doesn't look like it's being rejected to me. It just looks like they pierced it a little thin, which is what my piercer did. Most of the time thinner people tend to have less skin there so they pierce a thinner piece of skin. It just looks like mine, minus the scar. I would be careful with it though. I didn't do any salt soaks on mine, I just used dial anti-bacterial soap & peroxide. The peroxide did wonders for it & cut the healing time down significantly.

A fully rejected naval piercing means that your jewelry "migrated" out of your body. If you notice that the skin between your piercing is getting thinner and thinner - ie, you can feel more of the bar - then your piercing is slowly shifting (or "migrating") out of your body, and may rip through your skin. This is common for surface piercings (eyebrows as well).

Mine never healed after a year or so. It had a small red puss bump at the top of where the ring came out. No matter what kind of soap or antibacterial I used, it never went away. I removed the ring and it was gone in a day. Coincidence......?
