I don't know about buying back copies, but all news articles and results are archived on the Racing Post website: http://www.racingpost.co.uk.
You need to register to use the site but it is free.
You can also search for sales results, sire statistics, etc.
It is very useful, I use it on a daily basis.

Usually the betting shop will have at least a months worth of old Racing Post behind the counter.
If its a quiet or local shop, the manager will usually let you see them.

the trick is getting a good horse that you can communicate with first. You probably should do some reading online and find out the basics on how to direct your horse around the barrels. Looks easy but is incredibly technical. Then, sign up for amateur meets as much as you can. Good luck!
