The Book of Genesis was written by Moses and inspired by God. It is believed that Moses penned the first five books of the Bible known as the Pentateuch.

The two stories of creation in the Book of Genesis are said by scholars to represent two different versions of creation that were likely circulated by the oral story tellers of the day. The first (in chapter 1) begins with a wet world in which God separates out land from the water, creates the plants and animals, and then ultimately human beings. In the second, which begins at Genesis 2:4, starts with a desert world, and god there allows a mist to rain on the earth. God creates human beings, and then plants a garden for them to live in.

Regarding the Easter vigil readings, the church tries to draw metaphors of God saving people from the stories of the old testament, and when they read the story of the Israelites' exodus from Egypt, they are trying to draw an analogy to God freeing Christians via the crucifixion/resurrection.

Hope this helps.

There are many parts of the first book of genesis where god seems to speaking to another. Later in the bible Christ confirms that he was always there, the beginning and the end, the alpha and the omega. This shows confirms the deoty of christ in that he was alawsy there with the father. This is why it is often refferd to during easter vigils being that easter is all about accepting and believeing in christ as the son of god that was is and always will be.

here are some scriptural references:

here is god speaking to christ...notice the "us"

26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

here we see christ telling how we was always there

John 8:58
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Revelation 1:8
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

You need to drink less coffee. Your question is totally erratic. The "story" in the Bible was taken from anything. It is THE story of creation. Others have taken from it and adulterated it, Islam for one.

The creation myth and flood story appear in the Sumarian epic of Gilgamesh so it was probably taken from that.
