My work includes cutting sticks of cigarettes into small bits. But I do not smoke. Would constant inhaling of tobacco smell/odour cause cancer in the long run?

I don't know that there is any evidence of this. I think the danger is in inhaling the smoke of burning leaves.

If there is any danger in your job, I would think that there would be more danger in the chemical additives used then the tobacco itself.

It is the smoking which causes cancer. Chewing of tobacco also causes mouth cancer but odour, though offensive, is not known to cause cancer.

It is a good smell, there's an office building I visit all the time that has pipe tobacco scented air freshener in all the bathrooms, it's a much better smell than the alternative.

Not the tobacco, at all.
But the chemicals they add - if you are actually cutting cigarettes - that I would be concerned about.
