Hello Latasha
Of course everyone is right , a snowman is an 8 on a hole which is pretty bad.
On the plus side if its on a par 5 then its not so bad for its only a triple bogey but on a par 3 its a quintuple bogey YUK.
I didnt even know there was such a word as quintuple bogey in golf untill our club championship this year. Thats when I was only 1 over par after 13 hole and came to the par 3 14th, I finished that 14th hole with a 9 ( yikes ) .
That is proof that it can happen at anytime.

A "SNOWMAN" is a term for a score of 8 on any hole. It is called the snowman because the figure "8" resembles the body of a snowman. I hope this decrption of a snowman is good enough!

An 8. Most of the time, not here though, and 8 looks like a snowman. The bottom part is bigger than the top part.

A crappy score! I never like writing down 8! It's because an 8 looks like a snowman.

A snowman is a reason to break your putter over your knee, sell the remaining clubs and live a life of solitude.
