I see the guy below me Talking about the Dominican Republic.Which One are You talking about? The English Speaking island of Dominica Or The Spanish speaking island of the Dominican Republic.2 different countries both in the caribbean people get them mixed up all the time because their names are similiar.I am From the English Speaking Island Of Dominica Not the Dominican Republic and the infromation I give is from the island Of Dominica NOT the Dominican Republic.

Im a Dominican and I would just like to tell u welcome to my country in advance and hope yoou enjoy your stay i will jus list a few things you could do and the websites i woud provide would give you more detailed information

1 Snorkelling-2 thumbs up to that one.
2.Whale wathing(and dolphin)-we were branded the whale watching capital of the Caribbean
3.Horse back riding
4.Hiking-to waterfalls,2nd largest boiling lake,fresh water lakes,mountains trails,ancient maroon african slave trails etc etc.
5.River tubing
6Kayaking(however that is spelt)on the rivers,Lakes and Calm CraibbeanSea
7.Visit the last Carib Indian(kalinago tribe) Village in the world
8.Bathe on our beautiful and unique (not white but)Black and Honey-coloured beaches-not overcrowded by tourists!
9.Bird wathcing
10.Bathe and visit the sulpher springs(natural spa)
11.Drink our local beer brewed with natural spring water
12.visit on of our 365 rivers
13.Discover a new waterfall-u never know.New ones are being discovered ever so often
the list goes on and on and on

1st of all, don't be scared to leave your resort. I would love togo back to 26 falls. It is a nice hike up 26 waterfalls (little ones) and then you swim down thru them shooting over natural water slides. its crazy fun. if your there with guys, check out loose Maria's for a good time. Ask a guide to show you around, they're all over the place, there cheap and very friendly and knowledgable. Oh yeah check out the world capital of windsurfing beach, i forget what its called but it is near puerta plata. new years was a blast in the town square in plata
