Yes I know a great many Witnesses and you cant find a more honest , loyal ,dependable hard working people any where and they know the Bible better than any one else no exceptions and they are a warm loving people who are always helping people when hurricane Andrew and Katrina struck florida they were the first on the scene to help people out they fed them hot meals for free helped rebuild their homes helped with spiritual, psychological and medical problems and conforted people helped clean up even aftwer the government left they were there for the long haul and are actively helping people to know the bible better in over 235 lands world wide are not a cult all people are welcome at their Kingdom Halls world wide ther produce and distribute more Bible and Bible literature than all other religions combined and yes trhe even love to dance and have parties they are one big happy God fearing family world wide they dont discriminate on the basis of race wealth or geographic location or even sex they adhere to a strict moral code and not only live by Bible standards but teach them to others and have saved many lives and marriages by applying Bible principles and are the Best example of TRUE CHRISTIANITY THAT HAS EVER EXHISTED SINCE JESUS DAY they follow closely his teachings and example in going from house to house because jesus commanded his true disciples to do so and because they love the people and want to save them and all at no cost they have no paid clergy as that is unscriptural and also they collect no tithes as that was abolished by Jesus 2,000 yrs ago and to be perfectly honest if everyone in the world were as Christian as theese people there would be no need of a police force or any other agency like that because crime would not exhist nor violence but peace world wide locks would not be needed so to conclude they are also the only people who use Gods personal name of Jehovah and speak the truth about him when people erroneously blame him for all the bad things that happen as Isa 43:10-12 brings out so yes they are very nice people get to know them and you will be richly blessed Gorbalizer

Hi Natina,
I was raised as a " Witness" I no longer am in this religion. I can tell you what ever you need to know. I will be honest and fair. Yes, most of the "Witnesses" You will meet are very friendly. You will find that they are VERY honest. The one person on here that said that they are not allowed to work on Saturday, that's not true. That Witness probably chose not to work on Saturdays because they wanted to go "Out on service" This is when they preach from door to door. The other person that said that there was a woman that set her blankets on fire...she may have been studying with 'Witnesses' But she most likely was not a witness her self. There are some people that I have known that can be a bit over the top, but for the most part 'witnesses' are very smart. There is an awful lot of reading and studying that is really intense. Kids start speaking publicly at an early age. The whole atmosphere at the 'Kingdom Hall' is very, very loving.and it's not for show. They truly have that much love for each of their Brothers and Sisters. This is the reason that they feel the need to go from door to door, they have an affection for all.

I know a bunch of Witnesses. I grew up as one and most of them are pretty nice people. I have ran into a few that aren't very nice people and that shouldn't be the case. Of course, I am a little biased because my mom is one and she is the most honest, sweetest person I know and there have been many times she has done the honest and good thing because she is a Jehovah's Witness

Generally, you may know dozens, without even knowing it, as witnesses don't wear their faith on their sleeves, or at the end of a gold chain, with or without beads.
If you see an independent window washer, he is more likely a witnesses Pioneer, who puts in 100 hours a month in the field work. Jane Fonda only hires witnesses, as they cannot be bought for private info on their employers. Charlton Heston (Moses in 10 Commandments for you young folks) asked her once why she didn't become one since they liked them so much? She said that she could not see herself living as close to the teachings of Christ as they do, and neither could he (Heston).
Overall, while out in public, a witness can generally recognize another witness, they had never met before. Would that be J-dar?
The witnesses that come to your door live in your area, as each congregation has a specific territory they cover. Each Kingdom Hall has 3-4 congregations, with each having their own leadership and elders. Congregations are not broke down by race, even in South Africa, from before the government change.

Yes, I had a classmate and then a boss who were Jehovah's witnesses. They were nice and polite but my experience is that their religion requires them to be somewhat insular in that it discourages them from getting too involved in the lives of those who believe differently. They are also very concerned with trying to convert, its part of their belief system that they have the duty to bring the "good news" to others. In particular for me this meant that it limited the relationship I could have with either of these people since I got tired of hearing it and they got frustrated with my not sharing their beliefs. It was hard with the guy I went to school with because of some of their social restrictions, they don't believe in dancing for example.

One of my best friends was a Jehovah's witness when we were younger.........his family still is. A little self righteous but nice people nonetheless.
That is only one family though.........Jehovah's witnesses are human and you will find nice and mean people among their ranks just as you would with any other group of people.

I know plenty... I am associated with Jehovah's Witnesses, although not yet a baptized one! :) I try my best to not rub folks the wrong way, but sometimes what I believe DOES go against the grain of what people are familiar with. I understand that what I believe is not for everyone, but after much searching and study of other religions, Jehovah's Witnesses had the right path for me. And because I think it's the right path, period, I share what I believe to be the truth. We hear all the time that we think we are the only ones with the right religion, but this confuses me. SHOULDN'T a person believe that their religion is right? If they don't, then I would think it's time to start re-evaluating that religion!
I respect anyone who comes to the door who HAS time to talk doing so, and anyone who does not, SAYING so, and I think most Witnesses feel the same. It does not get us to heaven to come to your door.. we don't believe most of us are going to heaven ANYHOW. We believe that the majority of obedient mankind will be here on earth, as God intended in the beginning. We just want to share what we believe to be mankinds only hope with YOU so you won't miss out! Just like Noah in the days of the flood, he tried and tried to let folks know what was coming, but people 'took no note', the Bible says. So we're just trying to tell you there's a flood coming! :) We're law abiding, tax paying, honest and reliable people who just are committed to serving God to His standards as best we can, even if that doesn't sit with other people. It isn't them we're trying to please with our lives and attitudes! Thanks for the chance to share with you today!

Yes I know a few.
They are very nice people. Although they are a little more judgmental. My cousin worked for them and they didn't allow him to wear an eagle necklace, because they thought of it as being idolistic. They weren't necessarily trying to push their beliefs on him, but they are so committed to their religion that they don't realize they're doing things like that.
