Your computer uses temporary files to enable it to run various pieces of software, including windows itself.

The best thing to do is to install a program like CCleaner which is free and is updated regularly, best of all it can clean your registry and even stop programs auto running when you log on.

File hippo is also a great place for downloading updates to programs, just use some caution and read what it says about the programs and always run system restore and create a restore point from help and support from the start button before downloading any software that you have not used before and trust.
Trust me this saves a whole world of hurt or about 6 months work!

Are you deleting temporary files or temporary INTERNET files? The temp internet files are in a completely different directory than the temp files.
