My cat gets sore eyes all the time. It's a common misconception but cats can't actually catch a cold, the symptoms you're describing sound like she has a mild conjunctivitis (eye infection) or has a virus about her (cats have a '3rd eyelid' that pokes across the eye if they are feeling under the weather)
I have a Maine Coon cat that had cat flu as a small kitten before we got him - if he gets at all run down or left outside over night his eyes always become weepy. The best thing to do it keep her inside and gently wipe her eyes with damp cotton wool to avoid debris building up and reduce th risk of infection spreading.
It should clear up in a couple of days but if you notice any other changes in her, for example not eating, upset tummy, salivating etc, give your vet another call.
With my Maine Coon, Marlon, cuddles and tinned sardines seem to make him feel better! Hope that helps and your cat is back to normal soon x

Sorry to hear about your poor kitty. It probably is an allergy or cold - it is the winter and cats suffer from colds in the winter like humans. Mine always gets the sniffles around Christmas.
If it doesn't improve in the next couple of days, I'd take her to the vet because it could be a chronic viral infection or blocked tear ducts. Don't worry though, it's probably something simple and easily fixed.
Best of luck!

It could definitely be one of those two things, the cinnamon or the air freshener since you just put those things out and then the eye problem.
I used one of those powdered carpet fresheners on my carpets once and all three of my cats were sneezing, even after I vacuumed it up. I don't use that any more.
She could just be sensitive to the new smells. I'd recommend removing both of these items and see if it stops. If it does, you can introduce one of the items back. If it starts again, then you know it's that item.

Firstly if she is off her food and the eye mucus is not going away you need to take to the vet!!!! I would suggest that tonight you make up some salty water 1tsp to a cup dab a soft lint free cloth in the water and gently wipe her eyes. If she does not eat tomorrow and her eye is still bad then the vet is the only option. I hope you little girl makes a speedy recovery. sending my thoughts.

I think I'd take her to the vet to be on the safe side. It could be any one of the things previously mentioned by the other answerers or could be something else.
