It depends. What vitamins are included in these multivitamins? There are four fat soluble vitamins, D E A and K. That means these vitamins stay in your system longer than the water soluble vitamins, w hich include C, B, etc. Fat soluble vitamins can build up in your body and can cause side effects. Any time you have any questions about medications, you should ask a pharmacist. Doctors may prescribe the medicine to you but the pharmacist is the expert on the meds. Ask your pharmacist, he/she will know.

It depends on the quantity of the vitamins and how much you use during your daily activities. All vitamins and minerals have a level of toxicity if too much is consumed over a period of time. The results are usually the reverse of what the vitamins targeted benefit. In most cases, I always suggest taking a multi vitamin / mineral tablet 5 days a week and only vitamins C and Bs on the weekends. The reason is simple. All vitamins and minerals are fat soluble, which means, they are stored in the liver. What you use will deplete while what you don't use will remain in the liver until needed. C and B vitamins are water soluble. They are not stored in the liver and are used throughout the day or faster. Therefore, taking a multi during the week will provide your amount and usually use up during the weekend, which helps avoid a toxicity. But you still need your C and Bs for the weekend. Understand?

It could be potentially harmful if it's a very strong multivitamin such as from purity products. But it's unlikely that a double dose would be harmful in any major brand you'd have to really eat them like candy for a while.
But study it out for yourself and do some research on the different contents to be sure.

It means at two different times during the day (ie: Breakfast and Dinner) take TWO capsules, so in the course of a day, you've taken FOUR capsules.

It won't kill you, but remember this, vitamins only work when you have food or something else to interact with the vitamins. If you just take vitamins and don't eat, don't expect the vitamins to do any work for your body.

No, but it's a waste. Your body will only process what it needs and will discard the rest through urine.
