Needles used to always freak me out to the point where I would pass out. They still make me queasy but I have a strategy that seems to work. First, I tell the nurse or technician that I have a problem. They are usually very sympathetic and will make an effort to have it be painless. Then I turn my head the opposite way and focus on whatever is on the wall. I also talk . . . talk, talk, talk. That keeps me thinking about other things, and it keeps me breathing. Ever since I started doing these 3 things, I have been fine. As for your questions: The needle will feel like a big pinch, nothing more. Really skilled technicians know how to do it so it doesn't hurt at all. The rubber band that they put around your arm is more uncomfortable than the needle. You don't feel the blood coming out, and it should only take a few minutes. Sometimes a butterfly will be used. It's like a thin tube attached to the needle with a little spigot at the end. It makes it easier to take the sample. Definitely ask to take your mum in with you. Doctors and nurses would rather have you be happy than have you be scared and passed out. Sorry for the long answer. Hang in there!

It stings a little, but really, it's not too bad. Try not to watch after they put it in because the blood does squirt in the tube so it can be alarming. It takes about 10 seconds per vial and the number of vials they take depends on how many tests are being ordered.
Make sure you drink some orange juice before you go in, have a light breakfast, etc. You will need to make sure you have enough vitamins in your system so you won't notice the blood leaving. If the tests require that you fast before you give blood, make sure you eat something about 13hrs before your appointment. You will be asked to not eat for 12hrs so if you eat 13hrs before you should be good, just make sure it's a healthy meal.
It's not an altogether pleasant experience, you are being poked and your blood is coming out, but the nurses are always very nice and they will walk you through what is going on so you know what to expect as it's happening. You can definitely have your mum with you, holding your other hand. That isn't a problem at all.
Just breathe and trust the nurses, you'll be okay =D

It will hurt a little bit, not to much. If you worry about how much it will hurt, take a sewing needle and gently prick your skin. Thats about how much it will hurt.
It should take less than a minute.
They will put a turniquit around your arm and tighten it. They will ask you to make a fist or squeeze something (this will make it easier to find your viens). They will then put the needle in and attach a small vial to the needle. Then, the blood will fill up the little vial, they will remove the needle and put a bandaid on you.
Do you "feel" the blood comming out when you have a cut? Then you will probably not feel it when they take a bit of blood.
You can probably take your mother with you, but it depends on the place where they do the blood draw.

Will it hurt? Not alot
How long will it take? Depends on how much blood they are taking. It is pretty fast. Not even a minute usually.
What will happen? You sit in a chair. They tie off the top of your arm with a rubber band. Just like you see on tv when people shoot up drugs. They put alcohol on your arm feel for a vein and slowly put the needle in. The tubes for the blood are then put on the needle. That way if they need to fill up more than one tube they can do it without taking the needle out.
Will i feel the blood coming out? No.
Also can i take mum in with me? If you want you can take your mum with you.
Don't worry too much. It is virtually painless and fast. Just look away if it really freaks you out. Watching might make it worse. My mother always found it funny that I always liked to watch when my mother had to look away or she would pass out.

Dont be scared. They will draw the blood from the bend in your arm by using a little needle with a glass tube attached to catch the blood in. It will only take a few seconds and you shouldnt feel the blood coming out. Mom can go with you and just relax...it makes it a whole lot easier. Try taking some slow deep breaths and you will be just fine.

Don't be scared. Anxiety will just make it worse. Just take some deep breaths and try to relax.
You'll feel a stick, it might hurt a little, but it won't hurt that bad.
They will collect the blood into a vial.
You won't feel the blood coming out.
You can definitely take your mom or anyone you want with you.
Just try to relax. I always turn my head so that I don't see them when they put the needle in. I also don't like to see the blood coming out, so I just don't look at it.

Don't worry about it. I am afraid of needles, but when I had mono and was in the hospital, they drew blood from me every four hours. You will feel a little pinprick when they poke the needle in, but after that you will be fine. Your mom can go with you; it shouldn't take very long, and you won't feel the blood coming out.
Trust me...after two days in the hospital and all the blood the nurses drew from me, I'm a pro.

They will put a needle into your vain and attach a couple of ampules to take a couple of blood samples. It will take 15 seconds. It will hurt just a little bit. You will not feel the blood come out. Most important thing - DON'T LOOK and you'll be fine. It's really not a bid deal.

It should take less than 30 seconds.
It hurts MUCH less than a bee sting or an ant bite.
You won't feel the blood coming out.
You CAN take your mom in with you.
Take DEEP breaths and relax. Your anxiety will only increase the pain. It is ok. I promise. It is one of those things that when it is over you say, "Is that all it was?"
