We can't afford to pay Americans to do it.

Simple ...we use the guest worker program we already have ... import thousands of people from all over the world who would LOVE to come here and earn a buck or two legally for a specified time, and then go home!! Since we already have a program that allows for that, why not use it? No need whatsoever for a comprehensive reform leading to citizenship ...

While your at it, put up a wall between us/canada too. How bout a wall to keep the cubans from swimming to the US? And stop them cargo ships from China with all the asian stow-aways on board. HELLO! Mexicans are not the only illegal immigrants here. BUT by focusing on them,YALL are making it easier for the other countries to sneak in!

I was really impressed by how fast the Chinese got their border wall up around North Korea. Wish we could pay those guys to do it. We can easily afford to pay Americans to do it, but might as well put the beaners to work while they're still here

It's already a work in progress, and sadly, illegal immigrants are helping build it. It's true. There is a sad joke going around that once it's done, Americans are gonna ask the illegals to take a look from the Mexican side to see what it looks like from there, then they are going to close the gates on them. Believe it or not.

If you really want that wall, we have a huge cheap labor resource already- the prison population. They can learn a skill and be productive for their country at the same time.

It's not like they wont come back in. And by the way Hispanics are not the only illegal immigrants here. Mexico is not the only other country in the world besides us you know.

Actually, my belief is that the US/Mexico border fence should be a joint project between the United States and Mexico, as the presence of the fence will serve to reduce crime and social problems on both sides of it.

Maybe we'll have them build it, then deport them. I'd like to know who the heck you guys think did those jobs before the illegals came here, my best guess would be hard working Americans.

First off it's a fence, not a wall. Secondly I bet there would be Americans volunteering to put it up if that's what it takes.
