No. I think it's more like every man for himself and his loved ones. Because the world would be a terribly lonely place if you didn't take someone along for the ride with you. Now, of course, back when I was single I might have agreed with that. But now that I'm married - I'd think of my husband, my family, and myself long before I thought of strangers in a time of crisis. I know that sounds selfish and mean - but let's face it - it's true. It's true for most people.

i think everyone has to choose their own distiny for the afterlife.

i don't agree in the philosophy of everyman for himself if that what you mean. we are to love each other.

Humans thrive in communities and societies. Every man (or woman) for themselves would result in the breakdown of these social groups and ultimately be detrimental on the individual level. We each require the support of the larger social system to maximize our potential as a species.

no. humanity is inherently a social being. we build societies and come to rely on each other.

by your suggestion, we would have no firefighters, police, EMTs, national guard, boy/girl scouts or numerous other services, let alone the benefits of friends.
