Usually I buy from a green-grocer (the old fashioned type) where its local produce. I feel comfortable with this but Ive never really thought about it. You can still get a bad batch now and then. Its just natural. As for "organic veg" its over priced and scares people into buying it for health reasons. These people make me sick. "Spend more money to stay healthy." Since when should you PAY MORE for health? I dont think any real harm will come to you no matter where fruit and veg is from. You just need to check it which you cant do with organic cos its always tight wrapped in plastic which ruins the enviroment. Hmmmm........ Irony I think!

I try the best I can, but sometime it's difficult to care. I know it's better to buy local produce (organic or otherwise). (Yes, some organic produce are shipped from far-away land. ) The amount of energy it takes to grow/transport does have an environmental impact. But I also agree it's hard for a regular busy working class to constantly pay attention to this matter.

What I do is to buy local whenever I have the chance. (eg, Saturday farmers' market) and
elect candidates that has an environmental platform to the Parliament.

Our (the western) lifestyle is not sustainable in the long run. Good question! We all have to devote more attention to this matter.

Yes I care very much, I try and buy veg that has travelled as litle distance as possible. I avoid buying anything that has been airfrieghted and I most certainly don't buy apples from New Zealand!!!

I don't care if my tomatoes are different sizes, but it is important they actually taste of something, if that means I don;t have any in the winter, then so be it. I like to eat seasonably, which at this time of years means lots of root vegetables and brassicas.

I do care. Specifically talking of tomatoes, I would not consider Holland stuff because of tasteless.
They only have a great look. So, go for more natural food.

I would prefer to buy fruits & veggies that come from the US and Canada. (I live in the US and very close to Canada) I don't care if they are organically grown, just as long as they taste good.

Normally I don't even notice where what I am buying is from.

Though if it tastes really bad, I might make a mental note and remember not to get that specific type again.

I love both fruits and fresh vegetables better, regardless how they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

In the event it's a fruit they have seeds, otherwise it's a vegetable. And vegetables are usually grown in the ground while fruits are grown in trees.
