What do you usually use to get something out of the oven, a tea towel or oven glove?

I use an oven glove to pull the oven tray out and a Metal spatula to take the food from the tray....so to answer the question I use oven glove and whatever metal scraping item that has been washed up from the last dirty student in the house. Also I never bought oven gloves before. Only in this house. In my last house I used a tea towel. PS WHY?

It has to be an oven glove. All oven gloves/mitts are tested to British Standards (heat insulation tests) so are therefore tested to safety standards. You can still use a tea towel of course, but use with caution, because if it gets wet then the heat will transfer through the layers a lot quicker and therefore burn you.

I use and Oven Glove every time, an old fashioned long one with a pocket for the hands at each end, it's hung up near the oven so that I don't lose it.

Whatever is closest to hand the moment when I'm looking around. Use both, but am careful to not use a tea towel that may be damp from using for other purposes. Oven mitts are useful, but for some reason, they never seem to be where I can just grab it when I need them... tricksey little devils!

I use an oven glove! That way you have a better grip of the item that you're trying to take out.

I use an oven glove because it will protect my hand better than a regular towel..My oven glove protects my whole hand up to my wrist from getting burned.

A tea towel folded a couple of times. Handy for a new cook (myself) and easily at hand. I leave it drapped over the oven door handle.
