Alot of Canadians are feeling uncomfortable with, what seems to be, a disproportionate amount of immigrants from certain ethnic groups. Why aren't we seeing a wider range of nationalities being welcomed into Canada, to create a more balanced society? Giving preference to certain groups and eliminating the chance for other people seems to have serious repercussions for Canada in the future? What can be done to reform and reevaluate the immigration policies currently in practice?

I'm Canadian, and we seem to be taking a huge variety of immigrants. Quebec of course chooses its own immigrants and wants them from francophone countries, mostly from former French colonies in Africa.

I think immigrants from the U.S., the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand should be favored because they can fit into our workforce very fast and our countries are closely related, so the standard xenophobic reasons for restricting immigration don't apply so much.

the imigration policy in canada is too linient(sp), there are too many people that are coming over and using the refugee status to get in and use welfare and as a taxpayer i am obviously not going to be happy and there are many other people that are out there that will agree with me
