Has anyone else noticed that there have been a lot more hateful "questions" towards Muslims/Islam lately on here?
I mean, normally us Atheists and the Christians are tearing at each other, but MAN....I have seen more anti-Muslim bull-honky lately than anything (yes, I said bull-honky...I'm from the south...).
Why do you think that is? Is something going on right now that would cause a new upheavel? Or, is it just a continuous fear of the unknown, and it's just more noticeable because the anti-Atheist/Christian comments have slowed?
Why are we so against each other? I know that people are always getting mad at each other on here for generalizing...so why do people generalize Muslims? Just because there are crazy extremists out there doesn't mean they are ALL like that!
Just curious is all. Any thoughts?

I completely agree with you all. It's very sad. In fact, I just got a hateful email from a "christian" bashing me because I "support" terrorists. Isn't that classy?

It's shame to see such level of immaturity in a section about Religion & Spirituality. We are here for having dialougues about the different beliefs of people round the globe, to understand each other so we accept each other. I'm not against logical debates, and have no problem when some one comes and say you Muslims, how comes you think Quran has not been changed for 1400 years, if he has a logical reasoning. I'll be glad to discuss & debate. But to come and see a child posting: Muslims are pigs, Muslims are moon worshipers, Muslims are blah blah!
What can I say! I consider myself more mature than to deal with such childish acts.
Thanks for the topic, and I know majority don't agree with those few kids.

Abigailpi is just a racist, breast feeding lesbian (by her own statements i may add) who hates all immigrants and religions i would not take one word she has got to say seriously. There are millions of Muslim living in peace and harmony and are nothing new in the US either. Malcolm X was a Muslim and so was Muhammad Ali and they where born and breed in the US. A few extremists do not represent me or my religion. I think people should be more worried about ignorant hate spreader like Abigail than any Muslim they will ever come across.

Bigotry is a part of selling war to the people. The government and press push this bigotry to try to get public support for bombing cities and shooting children, even though the vast majority of Muslums are not violent fanatics. People who know nothing about Islam tend to believe the bigotry and think that all Muslums are terrorists.
The same thing happened against Russians during the cold war, and against Germans in the world wars. It will pass whent the war is over.

People want something to place their fears on.
I think it's sad that the Muslims on here have to pay for (In verbal abuse) what a handful of Muslims do in the name of extremism.
The Muslims I've met on here are very devoted folks who care more about trying to educate folks about their faith rather than convert them.

Just take a look at the news. Main focus is Islam.
The Imams who were removed from the airplane
The Pope in Turkey
It's what's on peoples mind - doesn't make it right.

people these days prefer to live in a bubble and only interact with people who are the same as them,
and keep everyone else at arms length.

I like the attention, it makes me research more thus increase my faith. It doesn't bother me anymore, I am immune to it now.
I enjoy witnessing how people think.

You already answered it. It is the fear of what they do not know or understand.
May they all find the peace they need.
