I wonder why you would want more speakers, quantity is not necessarily better, but better quality sound would be produced than from the speakers you have now. These can be uprated, by carefully removing one and taking it to an audio shop. They will be able to offer a replacement speaker with a much higher wattage and sound quality output. Car manufacturers speakers are likely to be quite feeble you most likely have four 12-20 watt door speakers or similar, you could easily replace these with 100 watt speakers and keep the same head unit.
Wiring connections to the speakers are easily modified. All this wont make your music 100 times louder!. But the 'bass' and 'treble' levels could be turned up higher to allow a more listenable less tinny sound. You may get some more volume too from your Peugeot unit. However you will be working it harder too. It will run at a higher temperature the more 'juice' you drain through it to run the speakers. This may ultimately shorten the life of the unit.

If you want to add some more BASS, for around £50, buy a small bass tube 200W which can be connected to your Pug stereo speakers' wiring. These require a 12 volt and earth cable connection too, so the stereo would need to be pulled out to get to the wiring. You would ideally need some knowledge of basic 12V wiring and a lighbulb tester screwdriver.
Fitting the is tube fairly easy. If you want to know more get a Haynes manual in the subject of ICE, (in car entertainment) and your library may have a copy to lend.
Although this option means you loose a little of your boot space, not good if u load pushchairs etc.
Ask for scotchlock connectors if you are a novice at such things and they are easy to use.
If you tastefully and carefully upgrade your in car hi-fi, it may even increase the saleability of the vehicle.
