If you're looking for online dating, try one of the big online games such as World of Warcraft or Second Life. They're designed to be very social in nature. Furthermore, there are a lot more boys than girls in these games, so you have a good chance finding a boy who will be nice to you, not just be a jerk.

As much as I hate to admit this, they will only go with you if they find you attractive because that's the extent of "hunting" for someone on the internet. It's the only aspect of a person that you can really tell for certain online.
