What if, as some Cosmologists and Mathmaticians postulate, there is a fourth pyhsical dimension that we as three dimensional creatures cant percieve.
A four dimensional cube is called a tesseract and would look like a normal cube to us but would cast an unusual shadow and be percieved that way.
Four dimensional creatures would, to us, be able to appear and dematerialize at will pop in and out of locked rooms and behave like ghosts and other paranormal phenomona.

Could the process of meditation, ritual prayers etc be a way of tuning in to this fourth pyhsical dimension?
Wacky I know and I'm not to sure of the math and science but could this be a rationalised interpretation of the spiritual experience?

The 4th dimention is time. but I hear you.

If we lived in a 2d space and 1d time universe, on a plane surface (like a piece of paper) we could travell in all kind of plane geometric shapes but we would not know what up and down is. Even if the surface of the paper was rolled up (like a cylender) we still would not know what up and down is. We would be very facinated to find that some directions lead us back to where we started.
Electrons seem to travell in more than one direction at the same time. (Look up for Young's experiment and quantum theory on googles).

Perhaps in a 4d space time can be bent (angular time) and maybe one can move in 2 direction at the same time...
That is another far fetched tought, but we would not know because we only can relate to our 3d space 1d time universe.
I think that is what Einstein meant when he talked about the hidden variables. I think that is why quantum physisists are trying to grasp a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, but the end of the rainbow is in another dimention.

If there are ten dementions that are truly avalible to man, somewhere someplace you are alread there. the whole enchalada is already in place it is the realization that takes you to what every you are preceiving. In other words believing is receiving. If you believe you are invisible then you are. If you believe you are a very visible charismatic super star, guess what? You are going to draw attention to yourself. All para-levels of knowing are possible, but for what reason? You are here now. If you are 100% together in the now then within that now is all knowledge to obtain everything else that is avalible to the human experience. What meditaion is: Meditation is hearing from, the all knowing source of everything, some call GOD, some call TRUTH. Prayer is: Talking to that source. If you can imagine anything, then the power to create it our there someplace. You just have to find it, or better yet, let it find you. You will only be given to keep what your soul is capible of handling. If all of a sudden you could appear and disappear at will, the question is, how would you use that ability? Would it be for the better of the whole or just so you could somehow exalt yourself? The creative power is no more alloted to the unclean, so if you want to go into the dementions that God has, the best way is to ask and the listen to the instructions on what discipline will get you there. It will never happen in your designated time. All super natural power comes from God and you must know Him to know yourself. If you are truly interested in things you call paranormal, then the first thing you must do is to make sure that there is nothing out of place in you conciousness where you are at NOW.

The fourth dimension is time. If you want to specify a place in the universe you must give 4 co-ordinates. Dimension one is a line, dimension two is an intersecting point of two lines in a plane, a height above or below that intersecting point which now gives you a three dimensional space location and a time. For example if you want to meet at a building located at the intersection of Main street and Market street - thats two dimensions, the 10th floor of that building - thats three, and at 12 noon, thats 4 - the time dimension. If any one of these is not specified you will not be able to make your appointment.

Read Edwin A. Abbott's Flatland a Romance of Many Dimensions. It a interesting book some of it is social commentary but a lot is about dimensions and what is seen and not seen in those dimensions. At the end a square say to a person, "show me the fourth dimension, inside you, and I will believe you." It is interesting to think about that God is in multi, dare I say, infinite dimesions. This is why he is not subject to time because being in more dimensions allows you to occupy full lower dimensions. Couple those thoughts with the space-time continuum and if something or in this case someOne is everywhere there time has no effect on them.

Read this.....this is a link to the online text of "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions" I think it breaks it down so that it is easier to understand. This little book had me thinking for days. Also, I think that it is possible to believe in the possibility of multiple dimensions without straying from your faith, whatever religion. Think of a drawing of a circle on a piece of paper. We can see the circle in its entirety, inside and out. However, a 2 dimensional being, say a square, that is also drawn on the same sheet of paper, could only see part of the circle beside it. Think of how a being from a higher dimension would view us, yet how we are unable to percieve anything higher than our own dimension. Although we are not able to see or hear a being from a higher dimension, that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. This being (beings) could see us in our entirety, inside and out, soul or spirit, and all. Maybe even possibly create lower dimensional beings, as we are capable of creating. So, I would say that if you follow a particular religion, you could incorporate this scientific belief and communicate with your Higher Power(s) as you normally would......I think this is just a scientific way of explaining that there is something else out there that we are humanly incapable of fully perceiving.

Sure it can be a spiritual experience but what kind of spirit?
Jesus defeated death and the power over all spirits, that is one reason I serve him. When I was young I could see the other dimension and I can tell you none of it was cool or nice, it horrified me plus no one believed me.Now that I know what is going on I stay in this realm with the God head until I get to heaven.

The closest yet, but there are still many other questions left unanswered.

Could this be the realm that the divine spirits exist, all of creation is governed by the scientific laws that the creator established. Something exists to allow for the spiritual realm and for the ladder between the two.

The fourth dimension is time.
You'd be referring to a fifth sixth etc.
Physicists have identified 6 (I think).

Paul said "we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities of darkness in high places"

These "high places" refer to the spiritual realm where angels and demons reside.

Could this be the 5th, 6th or nth dimension? It is entirely possible.

It could be a way of opening the door to spiritualism and the occult. Be careful who you match your wits against. Satan and his demonic forces are very shrewd and convincing. He even deceived Eve in the garden of Eden. No matter what your eyes and ears see or hear, the Bible should be your final authority. Anything that is against this standard should be disregarded as satanic in origin no matter how convincing.

Not whacky at all. I think that is a definite possibility.

God is so far above/out of our realm of understanding, that the experience of meditation (listening) and prayer (talking) - and possibly even angels and other spirits "appearing" is a "supernatural" - or, super (above) dimensional experience.

I've thought that myself many times.
