With $10,000 I think I would take in foster children! As a single parent, who is going back to university to get a degree, I don't have much, my children are almost grown, and I feel that there is such a need to help out unfortunate children, in the city I live in, some foster children are being put up in hotels, many kids in one room, now what kind of life is that, oh I realize, hey that's better than being on the streets, but really, how is this going to help this child to understand the love and safety that a family provides. Children need love, understanding, values and morals, how are these taught in a hotel room? I would use the money to set up bedrooms, use the money to help my foster children to play organized sports, take music lessons, and to just enjoy being a child!

Since this is Christmas Holliday comming up.. It would certainly make the holliday more enjoyable for 10 single parents whom are struggling , to slip them 1000.00 each to buy their children christmas gifts for their christmas...I know 10 is not even the tip of the iceburg but it would be 10 less than there was,, Maybe it would catch on and people would be more attentive of the needs of other people.Christmas is all about the birth of our dear Lord and Saviour,, its all about giving of ourselves to others... and this is what makes the world go around and a better happier place to live in..I am not a wealthy person... but in my heart I feel wealthy due to the fact I have a roof over my head, food on my table and cloths on my back.. what more could a person ask for.. and there are many people out there whom do not have these things. I know some choose to be this way ,but there are a lot of people that don,t choose this sort of life. and all some need is a little boost to get them back on their feet again.. You can,t help a person unless they want to help themselves..and there are many people whom would help themselves if they had a little boost and someone whom believes in them to do so.A person shouldn,t judge a person until they walk in their shoes for a mile... Well I could go on and on,,, but will hush for now.. anyway this is what I would do with the money... and another thing I wouldn,t want anyone to know I did this... ty Mary Firlotte

Since we as individuals have value and we as individuals suffer.
I would certainly try to stabilize my uncertain future.
Since it is probable that I will for quite sometime to come, and I know that I really need the money.
I would purchase a minimal vehicle then invest most of the rest of my money since. At the point when I know that I am capable of taking care of myself properly I know that I will try as I already do with my minimal resources to improve the lives of others around me and hopefully compoundingly these people will also do the same in kind.
Although there are no contracts and I do not have high expectations of individuals I do think that most people are generally good. Although most people make mistakes in this long and winding life and the more they are impoverished in mind and body the more willing they are to do incredulous activities.

Poverty creates many problems.

I would take the money and build an addition to the Future Hope Orphanage in Liberia, Africa where there are 63 children and their caretakers sleeping on the floor on mattresses. Then I would help them build bunk beds for the kids and add a school house. They are currently all in a concrete one-room shelter. It costs $100 to build a new house so I think $10,000 would go a long way to improve their lives including a college fund for the kids! Wow - wouldnt' that be nice!

If I was given 10,000 to help others, I would develop a REAL work at home (non-profit) org. for low income & disabled people to work from home. A computer could be provided to candidates, so they can do order fafilment of handmade items (cards, trinkets) to be sent to customers (much like flower delivery service). People helping themselves becoming indepentant would be the goal. As a disabled person myself and constantly looking for work in a world of scams. I have a marketing, computers and a non profit experience to donate my time to. I am blessed we have another income, others don't. Paying it forward!

I would pay off 2 bills. 1st a funeral bill. 2nd back property tax. Both of these I acquired when my wife's brother passed away at age 52. The poor man had nothing really and only his sister to count on for any knid of help. I'm not complaining,I'm glad to be able to do what I could.

HI! coinlight65 here, I have been there, I came from a family of 15 children, my folks were po folk, but we diden't care, we had each other and had hundreds of friends, my mom and dad were the greatest people on this earth to all of us children, they wacked us good when we needed it,and loved us to beat heck, when we needed it WHO ! needs money any way when you have had the love of a lovely family,and lots of friends, not to say you don't need money ,because you do ,but money, is a tool and if I had lots of it I, would get my self a business plan made up and start a good business that would help a lot of people have a job,so that they could be self sufficiant, and help take care of their familys,to much is made of rich people, the only difference between them and us other people is that they were very lucky in life and none of them can say they did it on there own , because if they do their lying like a dog. people who have made it and do not help other peopl in this world shoulden't have done so in my own opinion, some of them are a disgrace to the human race to have billions of dollars and don't think of others, you see people, who would just like to have a NICE BED TO SLEEP IN they would give any thing to just be safe a night ,instead of sleeping under a bridge like I have seen in chicago, man what I woulden't do, but my GOD, in heaven diden't see fit to make me a rich person, I am just as I was raised po folk as they say and mighty proud of it I have a very rich life and very good friends so if I had ten thousand dollars, I sure would try to do some thing to make it last to help others as long as there is life in my body. thanks and god bless you coinlight65, good day;

i would donate it to the leukemia society of rhode island! you see i lost my son christopher to leukemia 5 years ago, and i promised him that i would never give up hope in finding a cure and helping others with this dreaded disease. i race my sailboat "infinity" in a race every august called the leukemia cup regatta, where i find sponsors to sponsor me.every year they hand out the christopher clements memorial plaque to the top fund raiser, well i have been doing this race for 7 years now and have not been able to recieve my son's award! if i had the $10,000.00, along with the money i raise it would give me a better chance to get it. so, oprah i have sent you a letter in the mail twice, but have not heard from you. if your reading this now, contact me at sailtress1@verizon.net. thank you all and god bless . i wish we all could have $10,000.00 to give away to others!

Pay off bills. The interest I'd save would exceed that I'd get by just investing the $10K.

Good deed? That's for people who can afford it.
