If you want to open up a checking or savings account, Bank of America does not check for credit history. They only see if you owe money to any other bank in the United States. I have bad credit and I was able to open with BofA checking, and savings account.

Even just for a checking account they check you out. Especially since 9/11. The Homeland Security Dept. requires all banks and credit unions to do some kinds of checks.

Not that I know of but try credit unions if you are looking for a checking account. You can pay a $ 25.00 deposit and you have a checking account. or there are some credit cards you can pay a fee for and they don't do a credit check .but you have to pay the fees down before you have much credit on the card, typically the limit on those type cards is low amounts liike 3-5 hundred dollars.

i don't think so, and i really think it's dumb that someone can't open a savings account because of a bad check....a savings account is your money, there's no way you can overdraw on it. i just don't understand...
