God certainly does not ever want anyone to commit suicide although I have known people that have taken their lives because they have had a terminal disease that they could no longer tolerate. We all stand before God someday and it would be a terrible mistake to have to be denied going to heaven because of suicide. I feel that anyone considering suicide should read the bible and ask for gods help before doing something they may regret.Life is always changing and no matter what is going on in your life look at the good things. Sometimes bad things happen to make us more aware of the good things. If you know of someone who has committed suicide ,pray for them, Remember that after a bad storm many times there is a rainbow. Everything that happens to us is for a reason. There has to be a lesson in it. Take the positive side of it rather than give up.

Its A Sin Allright, But The All Merciful God Can Forgive Any Sin Except Blasphemy Against The Holy Ghost And Saying Amen With Your Mouth Full

I'm so sorry that this happened to your mom, and I know that this is a very difficult time for you.

I guess the best analogy that I can think of, is in the Bible. Remember the woman who was caught in the act of adultery, and Jesus said "let him who is without sin cast the first stone"? There are all sorts of examples in the Bible where Jesus looked at each situation in a case by case basis. Because Jesus knew the intentions behind the situation.

Adultery was a stoning offense in the Biblical times, yet Jesus refused to condemn that woman. Because Jesus understood the bigger picture here and knew it was not as important to condemn that person to death than to make a point to the Pharisees. I think the same can be said of suicide; that God will look at your mother's situation and based on what was going on at that time and her relationship with Jesus Christ, that will determine whether she went to heaven or not.

Do I believe that God can forgive suicide? Yes. Because he can forgive anything.

First of all, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing someone like that is a terrible thing and the feeling that you did something to make it happen is extreme. I hope you're well and I feel for you and your family.

In regards to your question, I am an athiest. I personally don't believe in god, but it sounds like you do. My ideal version of a god would be forgiving, but also questioning. He would ask why you felt you needed to end your life, and would prevent that thing from happening from other people in the future. This obviously isn;t the case, but really, you can believe whatever you want about god.

So, in my opinion, if god really does exist and if he really is a caring god, then yes, he would forgive suicide.

good eve. i'm sorry about your mom. my condolences. anyway, regarding your question.

First, let us establish that God is a forgiving God. He is slow to anger, abounding in mercy and grace(Exodus 34:6). :-) God is love and there is no sin that He couldn't forgive. I agree with our brother that the Bible says that the unforgivable sin is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. When someone dies, then come judgement (Hebrews 9:27). The issue regarding where a spirit will go if he/she commits suicide is i think a controversial one..

I have been asking God about this and indeed in His faithfulness, He provided the answers.

Question: Why do people commit suicide? Perhaps because of disillusionment, fear, worry, lost hope among others. If these are the reasons of suicides, do you think, these feelings came from the Spirit of God? Of course not. These feelings came from Satan to destruct an individual. We have to remember that the fruits of the Spirit are is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Now, if someone commits suicide, he/she is unfortunately will be in hell. Why? Let's go back to the reasons of suicide. Why do we let ourselves be disillusioned and lose hope when God says in His Word that in Him we have hope. (Psalm 39:7). Why do we worry and commit suicide when the Bible says we shouldn't worry? (Matthew 6:28-34) Why do we fear when the Bible says God is our strength? (Psalm 59:9). When we fear, we lose the hope or worry, we are actually disobeying what God says and therefore rebels against Him! and God says in 1 Samuel 15:23, rebellion is like the sin of withcraft and stubbornness is like the sin of idolatry!

Ouch. See? everytime we rebel, disobey God and go in our own willful way, we are actually like committing witchcraft and idolatry which is detestable in God's eyes!

sister, i know you might view this words as harsh. But this is the truth. i know it is difficult to even think that one of your loved ones is suffering in hell... what you could do as a child of God, is to pray for your other family members that they may know Christ. Let it be known to everyone that suicide brings death not just physical but spiritual as well.

Yes....God forgives all sin....eventually.

The problem is that the promise in St. John's First Epistle is that God is faithful and just to forgive all CONFESSED sin. There is no chance for confession in the case of suicide, which is the ultimate expression of the sin of Pride (i.e., I know what's best for me - not God - therefore I will end my life.).

I wouldn't want to explain myself at the last judgment.

That's why I am a vocal proponent of the idea of a place of purgation.

As an Anglican, I make no such decree as doctrine, but it really does make sense to me. Especially in a case like suicide.

Suicide is not necessarily wrong. See Jon 15:13, 1 John 3:16. Why she did it may very well decide if it was sin or not. If it was not sin; why does she need to be forgiven it?

May you receive a pleasant surprise today, Glory to God.
Peace Be With You.

I am very, very, sorry about your mother. I say that God does. He will forgive anyone who believed in him, for He is all knowing. Your mother most likely repents leaving you and the world behind, and He will allow her into Heaven with open arms. What else would a father to all of his children do? In my opinion, he will openly accept her, more then others, because she needs help that only He can provide. Only a judgmental God would send her to Hell, like all the others say. She must of had SOME faith in him being there for her to pull that trigger (metaphor!) I think that God is not judgmental, and is the home for all of us, after we die. He will accept the good, the weary, and dead, and sinful, and all of us, and unite us in his glorious Kingdom, much like a high school reunion. To see what others have done, to learn, and to glorify His name. Your mother is there now. Best of luck, and God bless you!

I went throught the same thing, my very close grandpa committed suicide. If your mother was saved by Jesus than she'll be in heaven. There is only one sin Jesus will not forgive and that is denying Him. So as long as your mother had asked Jesus to be her Savior at some point in her life than she has been forgiven. I delt with the same feelings and I wondered about my grandpa but then I talked to my pastor and found out that my grandpa was forgiven because he was saved.

Yes, there is a God, He does exist, but that is not the debate right now...personally I believe that it depends. If someone is just fed up with life, no, I don't believe God forgives it, because it is still murder. Once you're dead, you can't ask for forgiveness. However, if someone isn't in their right mind and they don't really understand what they are doing, then I believe God does forgive suicide, but this is just my opinion.
