Smollensky's (near the train station) is pretty good for food, as is QUAD on High Street. The Castle complex has a few nice places to eat, but I havent been to any myself.
Afterwards, The Living Room on the Castle complex is quite nice for drinks, but I strongly recommend the QI bar on Turl Street, some of the best cocktails around!

The Quod Bar on High Street. You can't book in advance on the weekend, but you shouldn't have a problem getting a table. If you do, you can always wait at the cocktail bar before you are seated. The food and wine is generally very good, and the atmosphere is intimate. A bottle of wine and two main courses should cost you in the region of £50.
