Great question! I used to live in Kansas City and look forward to going there to eat BBQ. I think the best place is Oklahoma Joes it's on the corner of Mission and 47th. The line starts forming before they even open and it's crazy busy but soooo worth it! I left the web site for you... My favorite BBQ is a little drive from KC though it's in a small town called Williamsburg. It's called Guy and Maes. I think it's worth the trip. A second choice IN Kansas City is Rosedale barbque.

Here's a web site listing all of them:

Hope this helps!

PS If you like tabasco there are other choices but I think these are the best!

I like Oklahoma Joe's in Kansas City Kansas located inside the gas station at 47th and Mission Road.Another choice would be the original Arthur Bryant's on Brooklyn A little north of 18th St near the jazz museum and ***** leagues baseball hall of fame. Also Quicks at 7th and Cheyenne across the street from Bicklemieres Butcher shop in KC KS is extremely good

There are many opinions as to where is the BEST BBQ in KC. Two of the best that you will ever eat at are as follows.

Fiorella's Jack Stack

LC's BBQ

These two have to me some of the best BBQ you will ever eat!

Check these out and enjoy! Hope this will help you out.

I've been to Fiorella's Jack Stack, while those BBQ fans in my party enjoyed their food, there was limited selection for those (like me) that dislike BBQ so I was stuck w/ a potato and corn (which was still good.) Just keep that in mind if dining w/ those that dislike it. I've heard it's the best. Worth a try!

I like the smokestack in Martin City (between grandview and Belton MO), but I really like
1. Johnny's BBQ in Mission KS,
2. Earl Quick's in Merriam KS.
3. Zarda's (there are a few...I go to the one in Overland Park)

Most Kansas Citians are split between Gates and Arthur Bryants. I've seen fistfights break out over who's is better. Jack's stack is awfully good, and I think has better quality meats that the others, but you pay for it. I've heard LC's is good, but I've never had the chance to taste it. I usually go with Gates because their sauce is so good I could drink it.

I really enjoy Gates (103rd and State Line, but there is more than one) and Arthur Bryants. Arthur Bryants is EXTREMELY famous throughout the country.
